Not exaggerating at all when I say that's the most impressive opening interview I've ever seen from a player joining us. He's either the GOAT of media training and knowing the right things to say or he's genuinely that enthusiastic and personable.

This lad’s mentality joins a team of other winning mentalities. We have it absolutely nailed in terms of incomings who are desperate to succeed and fully believe in succeeding

Great point this. I believe the likes of Mbeumo, Madueke and Kudus are probably (currently anyway) technically better than Elanga, but if any of them can match or better his attitude, desire to improve and not just collect his wages and be a clear fit for us and the way we play, i'd be stunned.

Elanga has a great attitude no doubt.

But slagging off every player who chose someone else over us and exclaiming them as someone who has no desire to improve and/or is only after the money is disengenious at best.

Don't think I did that? Madueke is quite clearly driven differently and Kudus has plenty of WHU fans claiming he downed tools a lot last year. Mbeumo is a really top player, one I wish we'd had a shot at.

Wasn't aimed directly at you, its something that a lot allude to on here. Players have a myriad of reasons for joining certain clubs, and even if it's because the wages are twice as high, it doesn't mean they don't back themselves, have ambition and want to improve

Aye. Was just thinking the same myself. Clearly buzzing to be here.

I think anyone joining Chelsea probably know what they're getting into and deserve little understanding when it goes tits up, other than that i'd largely agree.

That’s a bit of a myth. Tonali, Gordon, Isak, trippier, wood, all started straight away. He’ll likely start on the bench because Murphy deserves to start

Aren’t you perpetuating the myth? Elanga will start and Murphy will still be a key player for us as we have a ridiculous amount of games coming at us.

Is this the same Chelsea that finished above us for the past 2 seasons, and are in the World Club Cup final? That Chelsea?

I get they've got a tonne of players but they're not some joke in terms of performances. Plus the players they do have that don't make the first team seem inevitably to move on for a profit so it's not going too badly for anyone there that I can see?

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for them to implode, but I just can't see it.

They won’t implode with the ‘human capital’ cheat code they have, but fuck them in general.

They finished 3 points ahead of us, despite spending like 2 billion quid, utilizing every loophole under the sun and generally ruining half their player's development. They're a fucking disgrace, hope they go bust.

Cracking interview, speaks well, grounded, humble and hungry. This one seems like it’s been on the cards for more than just the summer. Not quite tapping up but like he’s known his home wasn’t his home last year.

Now he’s home ☺️

Watching the Adam Clery video on him was odd like. He kept saying "don't get me wrong, think he'll be good but..." and talking about all the stuff he doesn't do particularly well. Oddly negative for him. Think Elanga will be perfect for us personally.
