Ironically there's a narrative starting to circulate that Isak was never that good and is massively overrated, and he only did well at Newcastle because teams didn't respect the team, and never sat back against them.

 

Apparently now he's at a "big club" that teams sit back against, he's proving he's not up to it.

 

So yeah ... apparently both Elanga and Isak were always shit, because they operate better when they are played into space and can exploit some of their best attributes.

 

Never mind the clubs failing to properly utilise the players they've spent so much money on, or even signing them in the first place and expecting them to play in a completely different way.

 

Everything they achieved previously has now been rendered null and void. 

 

They're just "shit".

It does suggest they’re worth nothing like the fees paid, shit or not.  You don’t pay £50m for a winger who can only play if everything is absolutely spot on for him

Elanga is a shit footballer. In terms of technical ability and control he’s dogshit.

 

I gave him 4 months which is a fair enough sample size before going in, even if the writing was on the wall sharpish.

 

Can’t get over the fact we coveted him for 2 summers as well. Then paid £55m for him, Christ.

I don't get why he (and Gordon) feel the need to play with chalk on their boots. Both are more effective when utilising their speed going more centrally. Elanga's best moments this season have been the red vs Burnley, his chance against Villa and his performance at USG - where he was far narrower than we are seeing him most appearances.

 

When you have electric pace, you want that running straight at goal. He's not that skillful nor does he have a great cross on him, so he needs to look to run inwards more. 

 

Toon's pattern of play for three odd years has been Trippier/Almiron/Bruno triangles down the right flank but Elanga is never going to be effective when asked to play that role. You don't buy a player with his attributes and tell him to stay as wide as possible.

 

In theory our front three (Gordon/Wolt/Elanga) should work like Bayern's where Kane drops deeper but the two wide men are always looking to run in behind and directly towards goal. That should play to their stengths. Asking them to play slow skillful, patent build-up doesn't seem to be working, so let them loose to do what they do best and if they cab't do that, then so be in. Square Pegs in Round Holes doesn't work long-term, see Burn, D and Left-Back.

Never was and one season of those stats (worse than Murphy also whom he was supposed to be an improvement on). Time will tell, but no chance imo he will have any offer over £25 million. He will go somewhere on loan, we will see though.

Doesn't help that he's been tasked with holding Tino's hand on the right flank for about 80% of some games. He's spent an awful lot of time as, essentially, an auxiliary RWB playing 5-10 yards in front of his RB

I’ve heard plenty of grumbling at the match which is getting louder with him, plus social media is all over it, he will see/hear and be told about these things.  So no it’s just not on a forum
