Nucasol Posted Sunday at 12:41 Share Posted Sunday at 12:41 Think we’re on the schizophrenic performances for the next few weeks. Can see: - Beat the Scabs next week - Then get beat by Liverpool 3-0 in midweek without laying a glove on them - Turn up and beat Brighton in the cup - Lose to West Ham on the Monday - ???? In the final
Menace Posted Sunday at 12:45 Share Posted Sunday at 12:45 Either were gonna get battered and the Howe thread gets bumped every 5 minutes mid game Or we'll turn up and beat them. No in-between

Sibierski Posted Sunday at 13:33 Share Posted Sunday at 13:33 Genuinely can’t call this game. On paper, they should beat us with their pace on counter and us likely going to be more open due to it being at home. But then they’re also not really a good team, like a solid mid table side across the season where those sides we should be beating at home. But then we’ve lost to Brighton, West Ham and Bournemouth at home all to different styles. At this stage of season, I just want wins. Performances are in the dirt now, just about grinding out the results.
Sibierski Posted Sunday at 13:34 Share Posted Sunday at 13:34 What’s key for our games, is getting the first goal. We don’t seem very good at coming from behind at home to get a win.

They deserve to be where they are. Would you say Bournemouth are similarly in a false position? No. Bournemouth have been excellent nearly every time I’ve seen them. Yorkie Posted Sunday at 15:27 Share Posted Sunday at 15:27 Forest are good and the league is tight, so a draw wouldn't be the end of the world. However, it feels like we really need a win here to rejuvenate the league form and arrest what could become a slide. That winning streak was always going to end at some point and the big test was going to be about how we reacted. I don't think there's any sugarcoating that it's been a bit of a shitshow so far, satisfying cup wins notwithstanding. It would be unbearably depressing if we totally replicate 2023's pre-final slump. Everyone needs to turn up; coach, players, fans.

Matt1892 Posted Sunday at 15:45 Share Posted Sunday at 15:45 If we don’t leave ourselves high up the pitch exposed for counter attacks then we should win this one quite comfortably.

They did win 7-0 recently tbf but games like Wolves away where they won 0-3 massively flattered them. And we took them apart in the second half at the City Ground back in November; no one since has managed to win there. We need to win for any sort of CL push imo. Lose it and we’ll need to collect 10 more points than them between now and the end of the season to finish above them. Can’t see that happening. They've got a couple of very dangerous players in MGW and Elanga. Wood is scoring a lot of goals this season, but if the CBs don't take their eye off the ball, he's easy enough to snuff out of a game. He's just a target man at the end of the day. We know where the danger is coming from, we should be able to impose our game and watch for the sucker punch accordingly.
Jewel Posted Sunday at 18:32 Share Posted Sunday at 18:32 Lose this and we may as well just focus on the cups for remainder of this season.

Away from home, we're top of the chart for points won after falling behind. At home, we're 15th. www.transfermarkt.us/premier-league/punktenachrueckstand/wettbewerb/GB1/plus/?saison_id=2024&spiele=heim
M1tche Posted Sunday at 19:09 Share Posted Sunday at 19:09 Just show up this time please. I want to see Livra and Miley from the start, but if the application is off again, we get beat. If we lose, we're not getting champs league this season. Need Botman back, so that everyone has a replacement for the final. If they're not at it over the next few weeks. Absolute worst case scenario we're still level on points with Villa. (Losing would obviously be shit)

GeordieInManc Posted Monday at 15:31 Share Posted Monday at 15:31 I got tickets in the 1892 bar for this, which I've never done. Does anyone know anything about it as can't seem to see anything about it on the site.

Unless they’ve tarted it up in recent times (that is a possibility tbf) it was just a slightly poorer version of the Platinum Club.
AyeDubbleYoo Posted Monday at 16:54 Share Posted Monday at 16:54 The seat is in a good viewing location but nothing about the bar itself is worth talking about. It’s just a larger concourse with some carpet really.
Nine Posted Monday at 17:03 Share Posted Monday at 17:03 (edited) Our slow back line against these especially at home is a bit concerning for me, they can just patiently play their counter game Edited Monday at 17:03 by Nine
