Everyone had one eye on Liverpool at half time, nearly paid for it. On balance though it's a massive win and keeps our hunt for CL football alive. Reckon we'll go and get a result on Wednesday now.

I get we may save energy 2nd half with Liverpool coming up but fuck me we put ourselves in to trouble so much there. Should have switched it at 60 mins.

Well, we’ll learn from this! Or maybe not. 
Good for 35 mins of the game again which in the end was enough. Proper shit 2nd half performance (again).
 

Pope piss poor which in turn made Schär and Burn even more nervous than usual, Bruno poor. Hall great, Miley good for 65 mins. 
 

I’d definitely put Pope back on the bench for Wednesday. And tell the team to never, ever ever try and sit on a lead again. Go hell for leather with intensity and press, use subs proactively instead of giving opponents every chance to get back in the game.

Good God that was an absolutely horrible watch. Obviously delighted to win but rage lingers when it comes.

 

Honestly can't remember the last time I screamed that loudly when Wilson didn't pass it at the end there. Second loudest was when Tino didn't release it that time when he dribbled in field.

No idea how he prepares us to be such a confused side, a side who can blow away a team in one half, and be shit and passive in another.

Game management (by the players not Howe) was as bad as I have seen by a Newcastle  team for many years. 

 

Nobody took control. Nobody played the dark arts. We were rushing all our passes despite have either a three of two goal cushion for most of the half.

 

One of those wins which is a decent result but leaves me with less faith in the team.

You can still slow the game down and control it. We did it in the 2nd half against Man Utd.
