the days of "it's a goal!!!!"

then you'd have to wait till they went to the ground to see if it was us them that had scored.

2 match reports per half but could go for gaols aswell.

I've got it into my head that if Jacob Murphy was a bit more shithousery and had launched himself on the floor, when young Anderson "slapped" him in the face, he might have had an early bath homecoming 🤔

Looked a bit unnecessary to me. The swipe, I mean.

Ps wouldn't really have wanted that outcome, tbf.

Yep. Perfect player that for LCM if we want to keep a player that can run with ball (like Willock) but also maintain possession as we evolve as a side.

Just feel the boat has sailed on him regarding value. Deal was there summer 2023 IMO. Clear talent, now you are going to be looking at £70m+ and soon as you get to that territory, you are better off going elsewhere for value because no player is worth that unless they’re legit unique talents.

It was nice of Matz Sels to get some sort of St James’ Park induced PTSD yesterday. Much more like the Sels we had to watch and not the one who has been brilliant most of the season for Forest.

I also didn’t realise his full name is Matz Willy Els Sels

There was real beauty to the way he palmed the penalty into the roof of the net

Fantastic to be back at SJP yesterday! My son loved it and what a game!

Had tickets in the Barracks and that was very good and we even got a pic with Keith Gillespie 😁

We also had a bet at Murphy scoring and another one with Isak scoring two.

With his history I really hope those bets weren't with Gillespie!

The throw-in was fine and was set up for Murphy to either play it back to Burn or to carry centrally, instead Murphy tried to play a blind pass back to Livramento and was caught out.

The bad decision making lies with Murphy.

I've had another look at it, and I'd still split the blame. Murphy was having to deal with a high bouncing ball, facing his own goal, and I think the options of a pass back to Burn or carrying the ball across the pitch would both have carried some risks.

Footballers have to make these quick calculations about their best options, and instinct has its part to play. Tino often looks a bit tense to me, and he should in this case have been more cautious. After all, Murphy is not Zidane and he was put in a vulnerable position.

Nuno refused to shake Howe's hand after the game?  That's what Luke Edwards said, anyway.

Mad that with all the times Forest have scored first in the league.  Their only 2 losses are against us.  I suppose that is another positive to take from yesterday, despite the second half taking a bit of shine off the win.

Small sample size.  But I just checked and we have been crap at home if we concede first.  Gone on to lose to Bournemouth, Brighton and West Ham.  Where in all of those games, we seemed to run out of ideas at different points and seemed unable to break them down.  I think the only other time was against City, where we salvaged a deserved point.

So it's decent that we managed to turn it around yesterday.  Even if their goal was against the run of play and was a howler from Pope and Murphy.  They're more than solid once they get ahead and whilst we had our own luck.  We were top quality for half an hour or so in that first half.

Strangely, we've been better away from home when going a goal down.   I think it is 4 wins and a draw.

Just watching it back now can't believe how much quieter it sounds on the Tele versus what it sounded like in the ground (I was in the corner yesterday) thought Lewis Miley or Lewis Hall motm, probably give it to Miley with his goal. Be interesting to see if he can stay in the side now. Have to assume once everyone is fit he probably won't - hope we can keep him involved enough to be happy though. Just got to half time on the playback Micah Richards has just said "Murphy who's been so good for them" wat?? Based on that and knowing what the second half brings I think that's enough for me now.
