West Ham United 0-1 Newcastle United - 10/03/25

Recommended Posts

Been OK but far from great.

These are there for the taking but we're making hard work of it.

Plus, we look all over at the back the few times west ham have attacked. That long ball over the top for Kudus was utterly shambolic defending.

Massive pile of wank from two times wjo look like they can't be arsed and don't want to be there.

Not sure what West Hams excuse is.

They are shit.

Nothing there suggests to me that we are going to be able to achieve anything tonight, on Sunday, or indeed until Gordon is back.

So slow, so predictable, no threat at all, no real determination.

It’s like one of those last games of the season where there was nothing on the line for either team that used to be so common.

Tino has been a real disappointment this season. I feel he has regressed significantly.

Right now I rather have Targett, who will actually make the runs with real intent and then cross the ball. Rather than whatever attack killing movie Tino makes.

I hope Osula comes in for Murphy

Think we've been the better side tbf, not moving the ball quick enough though and trying to get the ball in the perfect position for a shot. Pick up the tempo and take the early shot and we'll win this. West Ham have defended well when they've needed to but they've been poor overall, this game is there to be won.

Very definition of "A half that happened" that.

Very dull, we've done alright in possession without any sort of final ball. They look like they could occasionally break, but are already on the beach.

Should have started that way.  This is Howe overcomplicating things again and causing more problems than he's solving.

Don't be silly.  This team selection is a dress rehearsal for the final.  Salah would absolutely terrorise Trippier.  That's why Tino is playing there.

Tino's one-footedness is killing us here. He's filling in and doing a job, so I'm somewhat sympathetic, but it just so happens all the space and openings are coming to him and he has to check back all the time which is canny infuriating to watch.

He can clearly do it. The cross to Trippier for Barnes' best chance was beautiful.

Dreadful game. We are painfully slow in possession most of the while, passes often too late or behind the man. Then we get near the box and rush it. Maddening.

They’ve been crap and we have actually controlled large spells of that half. Yet they’ve had the better chances.

Bit of a worry that Burn and Schar has gone from a solid, reliable pairing to a bit of a disaster in a short space of time. They just seem so nervy at times and not sure whether to attack the ball, drop off or jockey the man. That said, they are up against two very good players and they’ve not had many chances.

One thing I’ll back Tino, the times he has had it on left, there’s nothing there if he does knock and run. There’s no support from LCM, Barnes stays deep. So what’s the point?

He went wide couple of times early on 2nd half and tried to cross, but the box is empty bar Isak.
