TBH I thought it would feel like a second class trophy even if we won it. But I was a massive fool.

Probably beating all the good teams helped as well

I feel like the prestige of the cup has risen again after a low about ten years or so ago. Between 2011 an 2014 you had Birmingham, Cardiff, Swansea, Bradford and the mackems in the finals, which I sort of liked but I think it did hit the prestige.

Since then the winners had been Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and ManU (now us!) - and mostly that lot as runners up too, along with Arsenal, Spurs, us, Villa and Southampton. I think Pep taking it seriously particularly helped. Then you've also seen a bit of a decline in the FA Cup's prestige, meaning I don't think there's a big gulf between them.

Ultimately I don't really give a fuck, but I was past considering it second-rate before we won it.

Feels like so much to unpack from the weekend. Having worked my way through this thread I'm filled with huge fucking gratitude having managed to get to the final with my old man. Number 1 on my bucket list and 2 years ago I thought it wasn't going to happen and was heartbroken. He dragged his (almost) 80 year old arse into Wembley for another go and we were both in tears by half time. Huge sympathies for those out there that didn't get that experience after all those years. And @TheGuv you and your old man will be at the next one, come hell or high water.

Having now watched the game back many times (on my fourth time for full match as I type, alongside so many highlights, clips, etc), I will say that the mics are without a doubt muted throughout the game - our lot turned up massively, I've barely been able to speak since and there was barely a person sat down and we were in the slightly posher bit - half the time the lower bowl looked more like a mosh pit than a football stand.

Finally, I had the realisation that my old man and I have seen us against Liverpool together three times over more than thirty years, and we've won every one of them. The Andy Cole hat-trick, the Pepe Reina / Jose Enrique game and now this. Not a shabby record at all. Let's have them in the FA Cup final next year.

Lad at work's old man is a Man City fan and he warned me that as soon as black and white ribbons were tied around a trophy, the media would start to shine a light on our owners.  Because, while our rise might be admired for now, if we start to deny their red cartel darlings major honours then they'll start to turn.

Lo and behold...

Do you know what? I've given Liverpool supporters a lot of gib over the years, perpetual victims, whiney and nothing is ever their fault.... however, after the Cup Final I have to say 90% of them have been magnanimous in defeat, laying the plaudits on us, the players, the manager and the fans and saying we deserved it and that they're happy for us.

It was nailed on to happen, it will be followed by more stories about Isak/Bruno wanting to leave and join Liverpool/Man Utd or whoever.

Fuck the BBC !

Is there anyway of watching the full game on TV?

There's 30 min highlights on ITVX, but wanting to watch the full thing

ITVX have the whole thing, including build up and afterwards

Full 90 is on the official site, you should be able to cast that to most Smart TVs
