Groundhog63 Posted yesterday at 08:12 Share Posted yesterday at 08:12 Tbf if it wasn't for the clash of heads we'd have had a penalty when Bruno was pushed by pushy Shade
Boey_Jarton Posted yesterday at 08:19 Share Posted yesterday at 08:19 Thought the ref got all the pen calls for both teams correct. The Bruno one was somewhat annoying as the clash of heads makes no impact on what follows but it was a foul.
AyeDubbleYoo Posted yesterday at 08:24 Share Posted yesterday at 08:24 Schade was disgraceful by the way, lost every duel with Triplier and must have committed about 8 fouls. Incredible he didn’t get a yellow card.

LFEE Posted yesterday at 08:31 Share Posted yesterday at 08:31 9 hours ago, Rod said: The two terrible tackles in the box that should have been penalties. But we will forgive that because......... well its Bruno. He's mental man, we love him. First one you can debate. Push looked heavier than it probably was hence the ref in a perfect spot not giving it. Not saying we didn’t get a little lucky but sometimes those ones look worse on TV then when you are stood beside the action. The second one Bruno got his foot in front and therefore he was actually fouled. Even the Brentford manager said that one wasn’t a penalty but did feel the first one was. I’ve been one of the few from the start who has been balanced regarding Bruno and how his lack of pace would never have teams paying £80-100m for his services and we are ultimately at around his level if we continue to hit European spots. Ultimately when he’s not in the team we tend not to win so there must be something good about him? PS Forgot to mention his nice 3 way interchange which set up Barnes for his trademark chance that nearly give us the lead.

Elma Posted yesterday at 08:39 Share Posted yesterday at 08:39 Looking at the goal again, I think Tonali's comments of 70/30 were about right. He was running out of space, glanced up and saw only really Wilson in the box (there were two others on the edge), and made the intelligent split-second decision to hammer it in on goal, as a floated cross would have easily been claimed by Flekken. It was a percentage ball. Did he mean to hit that postage stamp at the near post - no. Was it meant as a cross for a teammate - no. With the pace on the ball he was likely hoping for a defender to gamble, a mix-up or the keeper to spill it. It also had a slight chance of finding the net directly, which thankfully for us it did. For that reason, in my opinion he deserves full credit for it. He played a cracking ball in with great technique and got a little lucky.

I think they were average last night like. Good at getting everyone behind the ball and working hard, offered very little else. Thought Mbeumo was complete pocketed by Tino. andycap Posted yesterday at 09:50 Share Posted yesterday at 09:50 Glad for the win but we need to sort these three or four players not turning up kind of performances. Isak Bruno Murphy looked pretty poor yesterday but the rest managed to keep us in it.

ponsaelius Posted yesterday at 09:52 Share Posted yesterday at 09:52 (edited) I thought Brentford looked a very well coached outfit who made it difficult for us but also think they didn't really look like scoring outside of winning penalties. Classic laptop side filling up the PL. Edited yesterday at 09:53 by ponsaelius
Tiotes Witch Doctor Posted yesterday at 09:56 Share Posted yesterday at 09:56 Overall a good win, thought we were excellent in the first 20 minutes but didn't make it count, didn't help that Isak was pretty off it, nothing he tried really came off, even the goal itself was a slice of fortune but we'll forgive him and we'll take it all day long. Thought the two fullbacks were brilliant once again, the recent improvement in Livramento is very much welcomed as I think a fair few were getting a bit concerned about his poor form before the final, Tonali was superb and Joelinton was a force defensively and going forward, unfortunately Bruno's performance was of very low standard, constantly giving the ball away and generally just making the wrong decisions, seemed a little bit overly emotional and fired up to me, which was causing him to rush everything he did. Enjoying seeing Barnes contribute a lot more, seemed to be involved in most things we did going forward and was contributing far more defensively, may be controversial but Gordon doesnt come straight back in for me, might bring back the best in Gordon too if he has to fight for his place. Top 4 is very much on, but we need to be consistent.

It’s one of those that shouldn’t be a penalty but always is. Of course the forward is running into the keeper, is never interested in getting the ball and likely the ball was going out of play anyway. But sadly it’s always given. Joelinton7 Posted yesterday at 11:39 Share Posted yesterday at 11:39 Looking at the Brentford penalty again. I don’t think it’s a penalty. Pope knows that Wissa is coming and so doesn’t make any action to try and collect with his hands, he takes a defensive stance. Wissa knows that if he runs across Pope when the ball comes in that Pope is going to be forced to come for it and he throws himself into Pope for the contact. Pope makes no attempt to impinge or stop Wissa, there’s no foul committed. Simulation by Wissa Other one Damsgaard just chucks himself on the ground. Bruno’s contact is minimal if any at all. Last one, Brentford player fouls Bruno.
The Bonk Posted yesterday at 11:55 Share Posted yesterday at 11:55 12 hours ago, Rod said: Jesus Christ! You remember that but not the numerous times he lost the ball and even worse his two shocking tackles that could have led to penalties? He does that every match and that’s his game. He wants a lot of the ball and with that comes losing it more some games than others.
