Nope a game which highlights home advantage an extra days rest and a Saudi bailout. Don't over react the squad they have is borrowed and nothing special and extremely expensive.

The way they deal with ffp is short term gambles we are more pragmatic about things.

They can call on Rashford, Malen, Onana, Ramsey, Bailey, Barkley, Digne. We have Gordon. It may be borrowed but that bench is light years away from what we can bring on.

Yeah, the lack of rotation is probably the biggest weakness this management team have.

No one on the bench is deserving of a game though

Okey [emoji38] I recommend watching the highlights afterwards.

Been watching the whole match - hitting posts doesn't mean a thing, just that their strikers aren't as clinical as some depressives would have everyone believe. Our run's caught up on us a bit, fair, but Villa's not outclassed us by any means. They've had massive help from a homer of a ref, we've been given nothing, they've been sneaky and got rewards for it. Hey ho, we've been done today, we've not embarrassed ourselves though.

Villa are a very good team, disappointing yes but we've been in good form and it was going to end at some point.

Hopefully will refocus minds.

Was always the most difficult game - but we've been totally outclassed.  We look tired.

Rotate by who? The players routinely lambasted on here as being shite 😂

You cannot bring on Osula 5-0 up....but you also cannot bring him on when 4-1 down...when the hell do you bring him on instead of Wilson who cannot even run?

one of the main problems today imo is that we haven’t done this. Schar has stood 10 yards off Watkins every time

Nah. We kept trying it and got fucked over. Then ended up in no man’s land where we are half arsing the press. Their second goal came from that. Most of their chances have come from doing exactly this.

As @Disco pointed out. We also don’t seem to get anyone in passing lanes. To Martinez just has a free 30-50 yard pass  up the middle of the pitch every time.

Villa are great at what they do. But it’s hardly a new thing and we’ve played right into their hands. Emery must be laughing his cock off.

Villa fans predicted they could get at our back line with pace, Emery knows the same. It wasn't really rocket science just a shame they didn't get a little more protection. Shame Botman wasn't fit in time for this.

They have so many more quality options than us off the bench.

They were creaming us before bench came into play tbf. Tindall has just been outmanoeuvred.

Howay man, can you imagine the reaction if we'd made a load of changes bringing our crappy backup players in after winning 4-1 and 5-0.

Unfortunately we don't really have that many options. Our biggest strength is our first XI and momentum - we just have to roll with that until we have more strength in depth. It will catch up with us, particularly when we play in quick succession and against a team with lots of options.

This forum is way OTT. Villa are very strong at home. We were very unlucky with 2 of their goals. Move on and beat Ipswich next weekend.

We have these performances every now and then, luckily we have Ipswich next so the perfect side to get it out of the system.

Leggy and holes all over the pitch, even Martinez was cutting us open from his own box there was that much space [emoji38]

All the typical horror shows came out today, Bruno losing his head and just trying to scrap, Isak going missing, lack of pace at the back, huge hole between midfield and the back four exposed, not being able to string a pass together, unwillingness to make changes despite the 11 on the pitch not performing, daft fouls all over.

No excuses either, we blew Palace away in 50 minutes these lot were scrapping PSG to stay in CL.

They beat us with brute force today, far more athletic ability and wining most of the duels. Beat us at our own game basically. It happens, our slow back line was going to struggle here and this run was always gonna end somewhere however the manner of defeat is a bit disappointing for me.

Onto the next.

Was always a game we could lose. I know its not our identity but we should have sat back and countered. So long as we batter Ipswich, it doesn't matter.
