Completely disagree. To me, it showed us that we are only 3-4 good players away from a sustained stay in the top 4.

We played well… would have won that game had we been more clinical, and only lost it due to a stupid error and a great strike.

3-4 players in the starting XI definitely. Our problem is that the drop off from our strongest players to our backups is massive.

2 years ago having Wilson come in for Isak wasn't a problem, now it's just embarrassing.  Our midfield subs consist of a child, an Arsenal reject and a player so low on confidence that he needs therapy. The defence is a guy who hasn't played in 14 months and an inconsistent full back.

We won't be able to challenge properly until we can add some serious depth to the squad and not just the starting XI.

Those AFTV characters, I mean that Ty character 😂😂

I'd part with hard currency to see him get such the hiding. Specky little spergy fuck that he is.

Wouldn't mind seeing that Raya punch clear near the end of the game again.  Looked like he was out of the box on first viewing.

Definitely looked close. Definitely looked like it at least warranted a replay [emoji38]

I’ll chip in if we can see him waterboarded using his AFC branded bottle.

I'm not posting it, but the absolute state of "Ty" shouting over the top of NUFC fans.

I don't know why we rattle them so much, but I enjoy it.

Needs a slap.

Thought we looked really solid yesterday, don’t remember them troubling us much at all aside from the goal?

Its fantastic going into these games knowing we're going to compete and have a chance of getting something out of them. Very unlucky yesterday, another day we take all 3.

Fully convinced we'll overtake Arsenal next year if we get the Summer right.

I would agree but I think they are going to have a big summer in the market. Think we’ll be very closely matched next season but with a better manager

I think it's a big ask. We might be able to add a few new players but we won't be able to solve our depth issues all in one summer, and with being hopefully back in champions league next year, we already know the strain that puts on our squad from last year.

And as mentioned above, the cartel clubs will all go big once again in the summer. So the ability to close that gap is so difficult because these other teams aren't standing still allowing us to catch up, and worse, are hoovering up all the best talent that would have helped us take that step forward.

We were the better side. They are a glorified stoke. Only threatened us during corners.

Was a classic case today of needing to score when you are on top. We didn't score in that period in the first half and you could feel the game slipping away from us.

Then they come out 2nd half and dominate the early goings and if we had survived that period we very well might have got a point or better but Gordon made a mistake and Rice does what unfortunately good teams will do to us in the champions league, he smashes a worldie.

We made one mistake and paid for it, they made multiple in the first half and got away with it.

Yeah, I was at the game yesterday and we had to score during that early period.

Their crowd was really nervous and quiet during that phase, and they were starting to get on the players' backs. If we had scored it would have got toxic and I think they would have folded.

Not sure how it looked on TV, but Tino had to do better the two times he was set up perfectly. Didn't strike it well enough the first chance after a brilliant back heel from Gordon, and that outrageous play by Botman to carry it forward and thread him through, he doesn't go with enough conviction once he gets the ball. Really frustrating.

Raya's save from Barnes deflected shot was really good too. Couldn't believe he got fingers on it. Was sat behind that goal and it looked a certain goal.

Yep to both. It was a shame possibly our two best open play chances fell to him. With his shot, he actually struck it a lot better than I expected, but that says more about my expectations of him as a striker given it was straight at Raya. It's a real weakness in his game as it stands, and it would add a lot if he can improve there.

I genuinely don’t remember the last time I was this “good” so soon after a loss. I’m feeling more proud than disappointed to be totally honest. Overall we were the better team and we looked very very solid and created quite a few chances that perhaps should have scored with a bit more luck and cutting edge. A few situations where that last edge was missing.

I really liked our game plan and how we cut them open with ease. We looked fluid and aware in more or less every detail. Botman is just a class act. Burn hade done fantastically well but Botmans’s extra star ability makes a massive difference.

Will be really interesting to see how we look with a hopefully fully fit and available Sven next season. Add some extra genuine technical ability and quality plus a keeper with great feet and the sky’s the limit. Obviously dependant on squad depth/injuries.

I really like how we’ve been playing a couple of different systems and how quickly EH has got it spot on overall. I hope and it wouldn’t surprise me if Eddie wants an attacking midfielder and have yet another option and perhaps go more in the mould of 4-2-3-1 as well, without the typical kind of #10, but a more dynamic AMC to give something different from central midfield.

Exciting times! Now let’s batter Everton and grab that CL spot and it’s been an extra amazing season.
