well if you change it to “attackers” then it still stands.

the African and South American players stuff are more related to their lifestyle. Of course there are exceptions. If you don’t agree with that it’s ok.

Yeah, think in time he might want that comment back

I don’t quite understand to be honest, probably because I am an Asian. In fact, Asian sportsman normally tends to peak earlier than European as well, usually due to too much carbohydrates intake during daily diets. Son is definitely an exceptional case.

very few Asian athletes can keep their form after 30. However those practice Yoga and keep very strict diet like CR7  could prolong a bit and make it around 32/33.

Different people have different culture and lifestyle which makes them having different life. I don’t understand why this is something that should get rinsed.

you don’t think generalisation of a particular demographic could be somewhat problematic?

There's no way to safely enter this conversation  But if anyone's going to make sweeping statements using stereotypes, it's best to back it up with clear data otherwise it comes across as just a tad xenophobic!

What’s the difference between “trying to agree a deal” and “incremental bids”. Oh and there’s that oh so ebullient, ever-present confidence again, which has seen us miss out on Delap, Joao Pedro, Ekitike, Mbuemo, Cunha and perhaps Trafford and who knows who else.

Should have just said AFCON

That's what I thought he meant  Instead he keeps digging.

Could have also said the long travel distances for (South) American players for internationals, but kept going with lazy stereotypes

The timing of the signing perplexes me more than the signing itself.

For all purposes the player is 29, hes in his 29th season under fifa rules and he turns 29 in Aeptember. Add that to the fact he wont be here in December and Jan (the busiest periods) and most probably not fit again until mid Feb its a strange one.

The first time we will have him for a full season he will be 30 and Isak will most probably be gone and a new man in. if he is coming in as the long term 2 i sort of get it but that must mean Osula isnt seen as the man to be in that role so i would question where he stands.

However, if this means it gives us an extra 10 to finalise Trafford and cover a position for a couple of years i get it in that sense

For 30m, this is a no brainer.  Proven goal scorer in the PL. 10m per year for 3 years. That's worth 10-15 goals that Wilson wasn't scoring.

I think his stats were the best ever last year playing up front centrally. When Toney was there think he was across the 3 or super sub.

Not disagreeing at all he's a mile better than Wilson currently is. He will also be playing in a better side but dont want to get my hopes that

him starting 20 games a season will add that many goal contributions.

A worthy backup and someone you can rely on for that sort of outlay will be good enough for now.

Did we ever even bid for Delap, Mbuemo or Cunha?  Was always just that we were supposedly interested and fans were rightly excited at the prospect, no?

im underwhelmed by this signing but you are making it sound like he’ll be missing half a season. He’ll miss 5 games max

Don’t recall reading of bids for any. Which given the amount of coverage/wasted words about any possible incoming this summer, almost certainly means we didn’t. Guess given all were clearly going to move a few of us no doubt entertained the idea though.

The structure of the bid maybe. How addons are activated etc.
