We've got nothing up front right now, dude.

Big Nick needs a Wissa like Isak needed a Wilson.

Think about it this way: if Wissa scores 20 goals this season in all comps and we get a top-five finish, a Champions League run, and do well in the FA Cup, we'll be saying what a bargain he is.

Let's see how things go before we say it's a bad deal.

Howe's usually right about this stuff, so these opinions probably won't age well.

Personally I have full faith wissa proves his transfer fee. We will be screaming bargain by January.

We don't have anything up front because we've made a meal of getting a Wilson replacement in.

Wissa will never be considered a bargain no matter what he does, he's likely our most expensive player in the squad when you consider his annual cost.

It's a bad deal from a financial point of view and you can't really get away from that. This isn't a knock on the player who I think is good.

For everyone calling him a cunt for refusing to play for Brentford, if the Isak thing hadn't happened to us this summer the vast majority of you would be buzzing that someone has wanted to sign for us this much and would be loving it.

Just be a hypocrite and accept it.

It's really that simple. We desperately needed a proven striker to save our season, and we've got one. I don't really care about the overpay, would cost us a lot more to have a shit season.

He's also pretty fast isn't he so a lot of pace up front. Think he's faster than Isak as well as having more stamina and rarely being injured so likely to be available more for us. If he bangs goals in this season I don't give a fuck about the fee. Hopefully we spend this season identifying young striker as eventual replacement, although chance we need to look at Burn, Trippier, Pope, Schar and maybe Joelinton replacement in next year or 2 at least in terms of squad as would expect Thiaw and Botman (if he ever stays fit) to end up as main partnership with Hall and Livramento. Potentially Ramsdale as number 1 if decent this year.

Centre mid and attack fairly young and may just need upgrades depending where we are end of season.

Its footyi guess clear this week nice guys finish last. At least we have depth up top think we are ultimately stronger now but feel like we've allowed ourselves to get rinsed. Feel for Brentford too every right to milk us but he's clearly let them down too

We don’t know that. He clearly badly wants to be here so let’s give him the benefit of the doubt.

Isak clearly badly wanted to play for Liverpool also, should we give him the benefit of the doubt? Let's not change scenarios just because he's signing for us. Only thing is the Brentford owners had the balls to actually get an outrageous fee for a player of his age and length of contract.

I think it’s possible to think he’s a good player, think it’s far too much money for a player of his age, realize we desperately needed another striker, believe this is terrible long term strategy unless there’s a wink wink future Saudi deal lined up, spot the difference between him and Isak, have confidence he’ll score 15+ goals, and think we got played by Brentford, all while still coming to terms with selling Isak for an amount that simultaneously feels low and deflating while also being one of the largest fees ever.

My brain is a puddle.

No, no, no you're doing it all wrong, you have to condescendingly tell people they're overreacting and to put their nappies back on for having the temerity to not be such a cool dude as yourself.

I’m happy to get him. At the very least, it helps us to pretend this was always the strategy (any strategy) and, in the real world, he should be able to score goals. Which, at 07.00 this morning, looked vanishingly possible. If Wolte felt any pressure to be the lone wolf, it should feel a little easier for him now.

I could see Woltemade making his debut against Wolves and then Wissa comes in against Barcelona so we can get them on the break. It’s great to have some options and a genuine opportunity to rotate the team

I assume he's been called up for Congo? Hopefully gets a decent amount of minutes in the two games they have coming up to help him get to full fitness.

Or he goes and… no. I can’t even type it. That would finish off this saga like a cheap pulp fiction magazine story.

Nick aside there isn't a single thing we've done in the last 24 hours we couldn't have done six weeks ago and had a proper fucking preseason.

True but you can't justify lashing out so much money on Wissa unless it's deadline day.

Doubt PIF sign such a deal off at that point.

Wissa in a Double Pivot Inverted Fullback Number 6 False 12 role. I like your thinking

We’ve been crying out for someone to fill that position, I’ve been saying it to all my football tactics fwends. And they both agreed with me
