Here’s the truth for you

My main take from this (which was interesting by the way) was that some people earned €7,142 in a days work.

Disgusting.

IMO to be really successful this season Wissa and Woltemade are going to have to be on the pitch together as often as possible and that will mean a change of tactics. Eddie is very welded to his 433 so I'm not at all sure how this will work.

Our 433 is what works but I'm not sure he's as stuck to it as we think. At Bournemouth he loved 4411 and he's increasingly played 352/532 here.

It's unfortunate he got injured when he did, but I can't see any world where the club ask him to drop AFCON, or where he will feel like he even should do that.

We signed him knowing he'd be absent in January. We signed him knowing he'd barely had a pre season and the risk of injury would be higher when he started to play full matches.

It's unfortunate but it just is what it is.

He's already moved Joelinton forward as prep for this imo.

Very much agree with all of this my interpretation is that the rat was never playing for us again it felt like massively overpay on wissa or the rat goes or refuses to play until the jan window regardless so we do the wissa deal or have no one.

As it turns out we will be without a full fit and fully integrated wissa likely until the Jan anyway.

Nowt we can do but grumble and accept it still annoying though.

I don’t think any player would realistically risk missing out on their one and only World Cup, regardless of how much any club had paid for them.

Also, it might not be worst thing for him to try and get and bit of increased match fitness with them (obviously you’d be hoping he isn’t as unlucky as last time).

I’ll repeat though, all of the above is completely compromised if he isn’t fully fit by then.

If he hasn’t played a single minute, he’s in no way fit to then start back to back intense games (if they won first one) which is what would happen.

There’s red flags with how he conducted himself this summer, but we’re happy to let it slide as he joined us. If he then threw it in our face to go to those international games it would be more red flags for his conduct in my view.

If it’s at a point where he hasn’t been fit enough to play for us, but is ready to start playing again, then I think it’s fair for us to be in contact with Congo and basically say we appreciate the importance of the matches but it’s not sensible for him to be starting back to back games, especially with the AFCON coming up, so be sensible. Wissa would have to play a part in that too.

If he’s had a reasonable amount of minutes for us, even just off the bench, then I’d be less concerned, but still probably prudent to speak with them.

Paperback saying he could be back for West Ham. Scoopy strikes again

I'll wait until the West Ham game to decide whether that's a scoop or just more ill-informed clickbait shite I think.
