If you look at him last season he had a really good connection with Mbuemo and Schade - there’s nothing with our players

At this level you expect good strikers just have a great positional sense - Callum Wilson being a prime example.

I don’t love the lad and didn’t want us to sign him. Hopefully he can get up to full fitness and we can get two seasons out of him. We desperately need him to perform this season right now though

Nah that’s too harsh. He was brilliant for Brentford. Colbeck was dogshit everywhere he played.

He had a very good season for Brentford and agree Colback was shit but the drop off is absolutely comparable.

that cross that came over tha barnes and gordon couldnt get a decent touch on....

he was running in then slowed down and stopped around the pelanty spot rather than bursting a lung to get into the 6 yard box.

he's not a natural striker.

Get Osimhen in. Give him the Isak salary increase that was mooted. Swap Wissa plus cash or Osimhen and Wissa as our front two and Wolt is 10 only

I would assume we could have got him last Summer if we were interested

Isn't he on something daft  like 400k a week in Turkey?

Osimhen to Newcastle is never happening.

When we were after two strikers towards the end of the window I really thought they'd push for Samu at Porto as one of them, as he seemed to make a lot of sense for Howe's setup, and still has a ton of upside.

That would have been the more realistic and achievable transfer.

He seems reluctant to change his formation to use Wolte as a 10 currently, what makes you think he'd do it if we splashed on another forward?

It irks me when players look up for it one night and then don’t a few days later

Don't think that factor should be underestimated mind. He was full rested before PSV.

We needed a striker with the abilities that Isak and Wilson had, both physical and with an eye for goal, it feels like with Wissa and Woltemade we got half of that in each so no matter who plays we lose out on something.

Oh it’s you and your mad FM’tastic, totally unrealistic transfer suggestions again

Mad saying that when so much video evidence to prove the opposite.

If the ball isn’t crossed and pulled back to him on the penalty spot, he scores it and wheels off in celebration, everyone will be commenting on what excellent striker movement he has.

The criticism of Wissa is the weirdest imo. He had a disjointed pre-season, followed by a significant ligament injury. He’ll not be back to his best until next season, never mind the need to get integrated and used to the squad and style of play etc.

What I see is a player with huge desire to pull on our shirt, working extremely hard and it not quite coming off for him yet.

Hadn’t realised how many of them were scrambled in / taps in for a couple of yards :D Few in there of balls going into box and he’s attack them and finishing with feet, which we need, but the amount of goals just won’t be replicated based on what a good portion of them are.

Key thing in many, load the box and someone close to him. Mbuemo or Schade are closer to him than what our wingers are. So lends itself to playing Wolte with him or get our wingers to play more inside.

About 90% of them looked like bundled-in tap-ins from about two yards out.  They all count, of course - but that wasn’t a reel which showed lots of composed, classy finishes.

Him being back to his best next season isn’t why we paid insane money for a (relatively) old footballer - and there is zero guarantee of that.  The disjointed pre-season is 100% on his lack of professionalism.

Aye, I still think what he did to not play etc what's a cunts trick even though he's our player now.

It's probably the ugliest selection of goals I've seen

Its a minimum of 4 degrees colder up here on average than London, lots of payers don't take that into account when the $$$$$$$ hit their eye sockets

Playing near the equator as they do in Landan is a massive help for strains etc, its well documented

I'm still in the camp of lets give him some more time. Has only started games for us a month after he came back from injury.

Would just be natural to need some time to build up sharpness and connection with the other players.
