Just seen the Athletic report.

This has to go down as one of the worst transfers ever.

What a monumental disgrace.

Someone is getting fired for this for sure.

I remember Howe thanking PIF for making an exception on the age profile to get Wissa. Can't image they're too pleased with this.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Did any of them have a career threatening injury before kicking a ball for their new team?

I don't know, but Elanga, Woltemade and Ramsey will need a lot of time, even if they manage to settle in. At the moment, Miley is better than Willock or Ramsey. Woltemade can still be saved if we find his place, but not in a 4-3-3 formation, he won't be good there.

The guy had just come of a 20 goal season.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but nobody expected the knee injury or the drop off to be as big.

If we were to sign another 20 goal striker this season we would all be excited.

The fact there are only two strikers over 20 goals this season shows that the guy was not as bad as people made out.

Just hasn't worked out for anyone... Rule is , don't go on strike as there is a reason players need a preseason!

Exactly. If he had a Cisse like start to his career here no one would be flapping. Unfortunately we got the Cisse post broken kneecap that Pardew played on the wing [emoji38]

That aside we should’ve just held firm at £25m instead of bidding against ourselves.

It's definitely turning out to be 1 of the worst transfer windows in the clubs history like. Nearly as bad as the Dave Beasant, John Robertson and Andy Thorn window after we sold Gazza.

Absolutely tragic.

That's not usually how those clauses work so I'd be extremely surprised.

I don't think theres a single way, it will depend on the individual deal agreed. Some are based purely on any future fee, and some based on Profit.

Sell-on Clause Explained: What It Means in Football Transfers

Seems to be being reported Everton are due a percentage of the 'profit' we make on Gordon, but the Wissa reports aren't clear (yet) on the terms of his clause.

What we don't know are the longterm impacts of his injury.  But he looks a completely different player to last season.

It looks like it took his pace, and he doesn’t have the technical ability or smarts to make up for it. He’s toast.

He was quite a clever player for Brentford IMO, as evidenced by the amount of poacher’s goals he got and his ability to improvise. A bad miss on Sunday, but at least he was in there. A couple of goals before the end of the season wouldn’t hurt our chances of shifting him…

playing so may mins or scoring so many goals or starting so many games may be the "easy to achieve" add-ons they keep saying to get it to 55m maybe we know hes done and are keeping him away to avoid it costing us 5m+ more.

If we bought him for £55m and sold him this summer, i guess he'd have a book value of around £44m.

So if we sold him for £30m (probably ambitious) that would be a £7.5m sell on fee (assuming its % of fee, and not profit) and a £14m loss - so a loss of £21.5m.

I guess hes going to cost about £11m in amortisation anyway, and another £8m in wages...so its not that much worse to sell him and take the hit.

A horrendous transfer.

He's still shown the odd burst of pace IMO. Whether he can sustain it over 90 mins is another question, but unless I'm seeing things, it looks like he can still sprint when he wants to.

I think the hardest part of offloading him this Summer would be his wages - if he's close to the reported £140k a week there isn't going to be many clubs going to be able to match that who maybe interested in him.

Any club - certainly in England. People still laugh now at how Spurs spaffed the Bale money. That's probably going to be us for the forseeable.

The only one you could consider a good buy/value for money is Thiaw, and I believe even he's a tad overrated by our fans (just a tad though).

When we got 125m for Isak I thought it would be a case of 'Sell Elvis but buy The Beatles'. Turns out we bought the Insane Clown Posse.

Who brings the most shame to their family, Wissa, Ross Wilson or Howe (can't include Andy)?

Why does Wissa not come out and tell us what’s up? Don’t think I have ever seen him do any sort of interview ever.

Hard to talk when you only open your gob to stuff another pie in it
