Surely it's more because Gordon and Osula can both run more than Wissa and Woltemade? It's not like it's a straight judgement of quality, it's what Howe has judged the team needs right now.

Dunno like - you watch highlights from Wissa from last season and he starts. Looks a million miles from that player.

Wissa was supposed to be very pacey

If he was smashing them in in training, he'd have played. Because we need goals.

From what I've seen of him since he's joined - he looks unfit and disinterested.

Nah it’s damning.

Even if you’re right. Why did we sign strikers that can’t run? Mobility is the one thing a Howe striker needs… even Osula can do that which is why he’s starting

Wissa could clearly run before his knee injury.

Fwiw I don't think he's disinterested, he's come back from his first ever real injury and it was a pretty bad one, which has probably knocked his confidence but I also think he shoulders some of the blame himself because he's come back unfit, he's clearly put on a bit of timber which makes me feel like he didn't train as hard as he should have in his rehabilitation. I don't think we see a fully fit Wissa this season, but with a proper preseason under his belt under Howe I think we will see a different animal next season.

I think one of if not both of him and Wolt go in the summer. We need a new striker and I’m not sure we can afford it, if we don’t sell at least one of the current two.

£55m down the pisser.

We wasted it in on Yoane Wissa.

Genuinely thought when we got him back he was going to be a major difference maker. Sad for him, the fans and our financial position for the next four years that we’re unlikely to see the raider type forward he was at Brentford.

Had the look tonight of someone who knew he wouldn't see a second of game time.

Staring into space on the occasions the camera panned to the bench.

He was the only one of our subs who wasn't warming up on the pitch at half time. Which made me think oh maybe Eddie's gonna surprise Barca by bringing him on at half time. The whole Wissa situation is a bit odd tbh. I guess we'll find out what's really been going on in the fullness of time.

At least for Nick he could be our plan B and a new plan A ST if we really want to change.

Wissa should be our plan A ST now WITHOUT changing our style or play. He should be able to break the lines like what Osula did last night. At the very least he should be subbed in for Osula. I really don’t understand what’s going on, may be Howe really written him off already

Selling them for a big loss will cost more then keeping them FFP wise

Like I said after the game last night I don’t see a way back for either of them now. Cut our losses and move forward.

With financial restrictions cutting our losses might mean we can’t replace them.
If we sell him for £20m. That’s a £21m FFP loss.  Keeping him costs £16-18m.  A loan might make the most sense.

I agree - neither suit us - we ballsed up in the sumner. Potentially there’s a route back to Germany for Nick so long as Bayerns option on Jackson isn’t mandatory - can we somehow get Wissa to Saudi?

Not having a set of 9s (and a RW) has hurt us badly this season

Really hope we can shift the fella abroad this summer or to another PL squad for force 20-30m and be done with him. No fault of his own I guess but just not what we need.

This was meant to be the instant impact signing.

He was injured before he had the chance to play for us. In those circumstances I'm not sure what's expected.

If we're doing the predictions thing, then I'll go for him being player #349 under Howe that eventually comes good and everyone just quietly forgets about the bed shitting that went on during the season he'd had no pre-season and fucked his knee.

WORRYING (NO™️) that we have  £55m and £65m strikers available. But Osula, who looked finished here barely weeks ago and Gordon, who looked like he could barely break into a light jog last night. Were favoured ahead of the pair of them.

Still time to turn it around of course. But looking like a monumental waste of money as it stands.

If he does eventually come good it should also put pay to the idea of paying the PL experience premium.  If it still takes a season to get up to speed even with experience from the league then we may as well buy from abroad and give them the same time to get adjusted.
