KaKa
I think this deal is one we have to find a way to get done. It will strengthen our hand in all of the shenanigans with both Isak and Liverpool. If Liverpool keep refusing to put a significantly bigger offer down, which I would raise to £175 million as soon as a Wissa deal gets done, and Isak decides to keep sulking, then he will be going nowhere. Wissa can then come in and start games until Isak figures out a way to get over it.
JonBez comesock
At some point , we need to bite the bullet and pay the fxxkinx asking price Need to get players in , surely we can take a £5m hit (over the top of what we are really want spend)

GallowgatePigeon
It's farcical how on the one hand we're steadfast in our stance that Isak is not for sale for anything less that record shattering money way above what Liverpool can afford, meanwhile we're umming and ahhing about upping our offer for Wissa by relative pocket change. It’s what everyone (near enough) does though. Man Utd (who ironically have just been paying whatever teams wanted in the past) were refusing to go over a certain amount for Mbeumo, yet simultaneously saying their bomb squad all had valuations that had to be matched. It’s just the way it is. Edited July 26, 2025 by SteV

We're in a strong position regarding situation if we get 1/2 forward players in IF Isak is here next season and sulky, then he has time to sort himself out, and get into good form to put himself on the market next summer

Fair enough, I take the point but I'm weary that prevaricating over a few million in June/July and not getting players in early leaves us vulnerable to getting ripped off when we start getting desperate by the time deadline day approaches. Either that or we leave poisitions unaddressed and try again in future windows by the point targets have moved on and/or inflation puts players beyond our reach

Alberto2005
Which players would you consider in a P/E? I assume there's only Elliot and Nunez to consider? I don't want Nunez but I'd have Elliot.

Infinitely Content
I'm not seeing it with Elliot like. Where would he play in our team? Does he at all fit our team, he's a small, slow technical player. Not for me, and especially not in a part exchange deal with fucking Liverpool. Worst case scenario by far.
