They're all working together to get the biggest transfer fee, the biggest wage and the biggest signing-on fee they possibly can. Stringing it out for as long as possible ensures Leipzig, Sesko and his agent all make as much dollar possible.

Wasn't it reported today that he had agreed personal terms with both clubs?!

The only thing we have not seen reported going all the way back to last year with Arsenal and up to now, is any kind of agreement with Leipzig.

Sesko is open to staying at Leipzig and so Leipzig are pushing to get exactly what they want from interested clubs. Agreeing with Leipzig is the key to closing this deal IMO.

It's why I'm not yet convinced that Man United are actually in this race. Their bid was lower, with less money upfront, and seemed a token gesture.

I may be wrong though, but that's how I'm reading all of this.

What else are they supposed to do, they are bidding for the best talent available and they are choosing elsewhere.  I don't think the recruitment team re the issue, maybe taking too long. I'm sure we could sign many players but whether they would be successful is debatable and we can't afford to make a mistake due to our PSR restrictions.

So what you’re saying is they’re doing all they can and it’s still not working, but you think it’s gonna work out anyway?

Really could have done with the y=x line drawn on tbh, but there you go, lies, damned lies and statistics. If Benjamin Sesko put his head in an oven and his feet in a freezer on average he'd be comfortable

Given the answer hasn’t been quick, you’d suspect there’s still a lot of persuasion going on behind the scenes. Maybe some changes to the add ons we are offering. It had been said Man Utd’s were easier to achieve.

When the biggest club in the world comes in for you, that’s media darlings Man United who, despite finishing in 15th last season, still take some turning down.  My money is on Benjy joining the reds, he’s seems to be motivated by money so I expect manu to offer better wages than us.

We've already signed Elanga and Ramsdale which has improved our squad. I think we are going for our first choices, lose out move to the next. We could pivot, sign DCL though if that's what you want.

We’re not far off that are we

Our best player is desperate to leave, we have glaring holes throughout the squad, we’re losing out on the majority of targets; I love that you feel positive that we’re going to be stronger than before but the evidence is not there.

We saw what happened during the last CL campaign. Lots of injuries.
