If we're not then what we're working on who fucking knows.

I don't think any of the Newcastle journos have reported on Sesko have they?

You want Ryder or Edwards to confirm our interest? 🤣

You have such a high degree of faith in our owners? I wish I did.

Yea, I wish there was an actual footballing staff in place, I'd feel much more confident in my statement but since Howe seems to and I say seems to have the final say how on earth could he agree to torpedoing his squad and sending it to the bottom of the North Sea? Reading that back, who makes the final call?

Because Howe likely isn't making calls about how much money can be allocated per player.

He has has the football say but not the financial one.

Probably, and who is that? Yasir? Who else is in place? What a mess to be honest. I don't understand the fucking about in getting a structure in place.

Id imagine a combination of sporting director, CEO, finance director and maybe Solis.

I imagine YAR will just sign off.

CEO stepped down by reports. Not sure what Ross's remit is. I guess the board and probably Yasir on something huge.

Seems like nobody at the helm.

This is another reason why I think us lowballing teams is probably not the actual problem. The dude running the transfers is indisputably even more impatient than the fans to strengthen his squad. If he could have gotten four more players in by offering more money he probably would have done so already.

It is a problem if you want to actually sign someone.  Someone in the hierarchy is making VFM assessments of players' fees by the looks of it.

I think it's deeper than that honestly, I don't even think it's much of a value for money issue as it is a budget issue. We simply don't have the revenue to pay these fees and wages required for the profile of player we want. We are in this no mans land of revenue whereby we are bigger than the midtable pack however much smaller than the cartel lot.

As I know you and so others have been questioning our work on the commercial side had been underwhelming, and the club can spout about has increased x% but the floor, it was the lowest hanging or low fruit.

TLDR our revenues hold us back massively, we are more of a statute to be cartel clubs dumping ground for the stiffs they have rather than competing with them.

This is where I think we miss Amanda a lot, someone at the helm who had a personal stake in the club, albeit a small one, who threw everything into making us the best version of ourselves. I know people say she likes to spend other people's money and yes she probably did make a few mistakes in the risks she took, it put us in a position of losing two highly thought of youth prospects and unable to spend for a lengthy time, but it also brought us 2 CL seasons and our first trophy in most of our lifetimes. When we lost her we lost someone with a vested interest. We need more Eddie's and Amanda's higher up, we've failed at that so far with Mitchell and Ashworth, we need to make the right appointment soon and I think everything else falls into place.

I think we have increased our revenue and stand much stronger within the PSR rules than a year ago.

We had a plan to sign 3-4 very good players for £40M or even up to £50M each. But the market has gone up, so theese players today actually goes for £60-70M.

Something we didn't see coming.

We also saw ourself as a much more attractive club to come to than we really are. I think we should be looking for more "unknown" or up and coming players who doesn't have the option to sign for the "biggest" clubs yet and who really sees coming to Newcastle as a dream move.

Maybe we're aiming to high to early?

With our 2nd CL campaign in 3 years and a domestic trophy win I think its fair to say we've arrived but we have to sustain that in order for players and agents to take notice, for them we could still just be a flash in the pan.

Fuck me, the local journos are so far behind the play on this one they can barely see the players involved.
