100%. We can’t win. If he is a success the agent will hawk to him whoever will pay him more. If he fails we’re stuck with him as our highest earner with an agent who’ll be brain damage in the background.

Not entirely convinced by Sesko, so don't know how to feel about Man Utd's interest. Does missing out on Sesko increase our reluctance to sell Isak? That'd be good.

 

But it doesn't sounds like Man Utd are close to the Antony/Garnacho/Sancho sales that are needed first.

I trust Eddie's judgement on this one. I don't trust the recruitment team to get it done however, so not going to get too worked up about it when it falls through.

Yep, i get the same feeling. Fucking Isak has absolutely ruined our summer. We should be looking towards replacing Wilson, Longie, and the CB role not scrambling to find Isak's replacement a year eaarlier

I'm sorry, Madras but I think you're taking the piss. Getting more information earlier in a time-bound setting is always better than later. That's not much of a discussion or debate.

 

The bolded are 3 of the hottest young strikers in Europe/PL. We would've anticipated competition from other teams. I've no issue with our approach to Delap & Pedro either. We did the best we could in good time. Etikite, we didn't even agree on a fee to my knowledge. Sesko we seem to be dithering. Wissa not agreed a fee either.

 

If we always did this and it worked for us - so be it. But we haven't always done this and it doesn't look like it's working. So far - we are having an all-time bad window in terms of getting deals done. Manchester United levels of not getting deals done.

 

 

 

I'm not taking the piss at all. I just see it as a bit glib to say "we should be quicker". We can be as quick as we want but we cant force other clubs and players agents to be quick for us (well we can, by offering above what they want). With Pedro and Ekitike how did we know those other clubs would come in, Chelsea having just bought Delap and Liverpool wanting Isak ?
