But has there been any actual update. I come in here a few times a day and every time I do people are talking like there's been a definitive knock back.

Everyone is assuming every signing will fail. I mean, so far they’ve been right I guess.

If you assume that media noise like this is usually agent-manufactured, I think the scuttlebutt is a pretty strong sign that Sesko's camp is very worried that he'll be the last man without a seat when the "big club striker musical chairs" concludes and will be stuck with his current club.

I think he definitely wants to come here, it's just an issue of whether anyone bigger than us will come back in for him. Based on the overall landscape it doesn't look like that's happening for now.

We should get a new CEO and DOF

Right, but we have people acting it those roles (especially talent ID and negotiation) who are proving themselves incompetent

Ive barely checked in on this one because I just can't see it.

If Man United are interested, not only does that mean they will offer the player more money but it also means that his club will start playing us off one another and the fee will go up.

CL aside why would he choose us over Man Utd?

If he had sense he should look at what Eddie has done to Isak - developing him into a World Class striker.

"CL aside" is doing a lot of work there. It's not like Man Utd missing the CL this year was a one-off thing. They've missed it in the majority of the past ten seasons.

If the ultimate goal is to move to one of the true elite clubs in Europe, the CL is a very important shop window to boost your value.

I mean CL aside as in that’s in our column but not much else is

Wages aside, why would he choose Man Utd over us?

One of the biggest clubs in the world, top 3 probably with Barca and Real. We see it in pure football terms with Newcastle tinted glasses on, foreign players will pick Man Utd all the time.

Man Utd could easily finish above us this season too, and looking at the way we do transfers they could be a much better outfit in a year or two.

I hear you but I think playing for Man Utd with their coverage is a big enough shop window no?

And let’s face it - he’s already the first name on his international team sheet so it’s not like he’s playing for his place in a World Cup year.

He’ll probably look at it as a huge move, on massive wages, without the extra games and he gets to bed in and probably play European football next year.

Annoying that Man U wouldn't even be in the mix if PIF weren't given them £50mil for Antony !!

Antony's not going anywhere else, so just stall that until our business is done for crying out loud.

(Like a million other posts before me, no idea why Saudi pay such incredible fees for players. Wages sure, but fees are stupid. They should be lowballing for rejects)

Just makes me question how invested are PIF in us - feels atm not very.

Also players aren’t daft they can see what’s going on. They’ll know all about PSR and what Man Utd can do and what we can do. We are sat here with one signing and our best player wanting to leave. It’ll take a hell of a sales pitch for him to choose us and that’s not even getting on the wages

I can't read his mind, but if the goal is to move to an even bigger club in two years I could see him thinking that guaranteed CL this year and being undisputed first choice striker is more important than all the other stuff that comes with playing for Man United, especially since they're at best 50/50 to make the CL even next year.

Obviously it's more likely than not that he'd choose Man United over us since that seems to happen most of the time, but it's not guaranteed.

Only watched the first couple mins An athletic journo has said Man Utd are willing to do nothing and wait till the last couple weeks of window. Berrada and  Willock are on the tour with Man Utd

Means nothing really
