100%. We can’t win. If he is a success the agent will hawk to him whoever will pay him more. If he fails we’re stuck with him as our highest earner with an agent who’ll be brain damage in the background.

I don’t like this one bit.

Feels like the club might be compromising on some of their values (Dickhead policy for one) as a result of the Isak clusterfuck. Feels like a panic move.

Have to say I feel the same, it's based on nothing, but Red Bull just has that feel to it IMO.

If Man Utd meet his terms then he goes there unfortunately. Been one absolute come down this transfer window.

Was on astronomical wages not now.

Juve are letting him go cheap just to get his wages off the books though aren't they, they haven't released him I don't think? So he'll more than likely still be after near to £400k a week or whatever he's on, which he'll only get if he goes to Saudi Arabia you'd imagine

If he's a success and is then looking to move its far from ideal but its hardly a no win situation.  Under Ashley it would have been.  Because any successful player was sold on with none of the profit being spent to drive the club forward.  Thats not going to be the case now.  Its annoying that PSR is limiting us like this.  But it seems to me that people are letting this transfer window, so far, get to them a little bit too much.

If we do sign Sesko and keep Isak, we’ll probably have the best strike force in the world….After everything weve been through in this window 😁

Be start of that ambition Yasir went on about - Pay them the money !!

Made the mistake of reading The Athletic article on him and watching the video clips: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6516756/2025/07/28/benjamin-sesko-newcastle-alexander-isak-analysis

I’m ready to get hurt again.

He is so ideally suited to our style of play. I personally think we should be getting him regardless of the Isak saga. We know Isak is leaving soon, whether now or January, and Sesko is likely the most tailor-made striker for us out there. The way we score most of our goals is the way he scores most of his.

It would/will indeed hurt, this one.

I used to believe so, just as I used to believe fan base, adoration and the prospect of iconic status meant something. Those ideas are aligned with the romantic attitude towards the sport which captivates and moves me, however now I think it's as simple as put more money on the table and all else is completely irrelevant. Even club stature, as that's another narrative pushed when actually it's simply a misdirection from the true source of persuasion.

All those things matter to some extent, dependent upon the individual player. At least I dearly hope they do. Of course financial benefits, expected quality of life/environment, prestige of the club, and chance of winning things (these last two don’t necessary go hand in hand) are going to be primary criteria. Even the most committed, emotional, and loyal players need to first build a bond with a new club for that to counterbalance the other stuff. Bruno would not have come without the significant financial benefits for him of doing so.
