Given their position they need as close to a sure thing up front as they can get. Watkins might only have another couple of seasons left at the top, but that’s exactly what Man Utd need at present. This 100%. They should back out of the Sesko deal immediately.
Ikon
At this moment in time I would pay RBL 5m extra just for the sake of it if it keeps ManU away. If player accepts then just pay up, quickly. Edited July 29, 2025 by Ikon
Fak
What if Man Utd then offer RBL infinity plus 1 though? Edited July 29, 2025 by Fak

sushimonster85
Worry that the hold up with this is Man U not having the money to do this currently. Which means that as soon as they manage to flog either Garnacho or Antony (or both) they immediately make their move and this reaches the depressing conclusion we're all fearing. World Cup coming, think Watkins is at his peak and the way he played against us shows why he could/should be first choice for England. He could have a phenomenal season. Tiresias
The problem is agents, player may want champions League but agent knows man u is huge payday for them.
Hanshithispantz
Watkins is an annoyingly good striker like, I don't want Man Utd getting either of them. Given they can print money his age doesn't really matter either.
TRon
I'm encouraged by a Graham Bailey interview on the Loaded podcast last night where he said Amorin wants a proven striker so will go for Watkins over Sesko. That makes sense tbh, he can't afford another Hojlund on the books. From my POV, I would far rather take my chances on a 22 year old prospect than a 30 year old Watkins who is going to cost £40-60m, depending on who you believe. Yorkie
I also think Man Utd should sign Watkins. Weakens Villa too.
Doctor Zaius
What's so good about Sesko? Admittedly, I've only seen him at the EUROs where he looked absolutely rubbish. His Bundesliga record isn't particularly good?

He is a little like Isak was when we first signed him in that, he is raw, but he has so many of the physical tools you'd want in a striker. Sesko doesn't quite have Isaks dribbling ability, but he is stronger. Both tall, both quick, both natural finishers.
Hanshithispantz
6ft 5, fairly rapid and has lightening quick feet, he can also absolutely leather the fuck out of a football too. Probably looks better than Isak did before he arrived with fairly similar attributes. Obviously a risk he'll click on the Prem Edited July 29, 2025 by Hanshithispantz
