This is only based on Youtube scouting, but I'll stick my neck out and say there's no way this player is worth the likes of £70m. He looks like another Nunez to me.

He’s just an ok to good player. If a mid table side picked him up for £20m, yea he would get some goals, but to the level that gets the top sides wanting to bid £70m+, doubtful.

But here we are, a club is seemingly going to be sucked into buying him for that, which I really hope is not us.

You think he's only worth £20m? Seriously?

Worth a punt if a third of the price. He’s not some standout talent, he’s the type if we want to take a punt on, the scouts can locate similar profiles across Europe for fraction of the price.

I don’t see much in his game to warrant the price or the guarantee returns for that price.

Doubt anything will really happen until middle of next week. By all accounts we are expecting Isak back in training with the group when they re-start after this tour.

I’m talking if he moved for £20m before then scored as he has done in Prem, if clubs would be wanting to drop £70m on him.

I just don’t see him as the top end striker value. You look at the strikers that have cost prem sides €50m+, you can argue only Haaland, PEA and Isak have been stand out successes. Others have been average at best for their values, or not even achieved that.

Etitike, Pedro, Gyorkes and whoever Sesko joins this summer will be a new wave of expensive strikers where past history shows not all will deliver unless trend bucks.

Overpaying for players who’ve scored goals in Portugal is exactly the route I’d avoid

He seems tailor made for the PL though with his speed and physicality. I'd be more sceptical if it was a fox in the box type of striker with smart movement and decent finishing but no other defining qualities.

If we sell Isak, this is the type of player we need to take a gamble on so we have the chance to improve the team in multiple positions rather than just signing someone proven ready to be a like for like replacement for almost as much as we get for Isak.

You can't compare though; all transfer fees are absolutely mental these days (apart from when we're selling, obviously).

Well he only turned 21 this year and in his first full season as a first team player in Portugal he scored 27 goals in 47 games.

Part of the reason I also added that clip is because it shows him scoring two really good goals against Man United in the Europa League, twice getting the best of DeLigt who had a solid season for them.

Similar to Sesko, I would be looking to bring either of them in with Wissa, as you'd ideally want a more experienced alternative option, as there will be some growing pains here and there.

Wouldn’t he cost a billion pounds?

Has come out recently that they're after a similar fee to what RB Leipzig are asking for Sesko, so £60 - £70 million.

Stop getting your knickers in a twist, negotiations are never briefs when you’re trying to sign someone to play up y-front

Play up whose y-fronts? Is this another underhand tactic by other club’s player acquisition teams?

Hayden Hackney going from Middlesbrough to Ipswich for £20m is a prime example.

Sesko is certainly not the finished article IMO, which is why I find Man United going for him absolutely crazy.

He's decent as is, but it's more about what he could ultimately become in the right environment. Would have been good for us, as we're looking to try and get Wissa too, which would mean a lot less pressure and room to continue to improve.

At Man United he'll be thrown straight in, with alternatives like Hojlund and Zirkzee, who haven't settled either, or shown any consistency in the league, because they weren't put in the best environment either!

Could see it being a bit of a disaster at Man United tbh. Or maybe they'll get lucky and it clicks. it's a big risk to take.

We've done well by managing to avoid these flavour-of-the-month overpriced players whose value is influenced too much by their previous season. Let's look at talented players whose careers have stalled and see if we can pick up a bargain eg Jackson, Nkunku, DCL, Hojland.

Yes, Hojland. Any striker would have stuggled with all the instability at Man U.

I packed in the personality powder a good while ago. I think it’s high time some others on here follow suit😂

Are we actually that headfucked by this whole saga that someone has just suggested Rasmus Fucking Hojlund😂😂😂

Sesko sounds like the kind of twat who would be happy to do that if it meant getting a glamour club in 12 months.

Aye, no one is giving it much mention, but him staying at Leipzig for another year and gambling on more options next Summer is a very real possible outcome.
