Feels like this one is over now. Not sure there’s anyone else out there who the club could pass off as an Isak replacement now.

The lad from Porto looks raw and Watkins is surely to old to splash big money on.

At this point I think the club has no option but to keep Isak here for another season.

Just shop in different circles. We can still get great players and I'm sure we will

Yes, this was the fundamental failure of the window. Then again, we still have a month to fix it and we should have far more freedom of maneuver with lower-tier targets now that the top six appear to have blown through most of their spending.

Worth noting that it's also not typical for every top six club to be spending over a hundred million in a single window. It just so happens that the moment we were finally able to get back onto the market with CL qualification and PSR headroom happened to coincide with a historic spending cycle for the cartel clubs, many of which had urgent need for upgrades due to underachieving/transitional squads, as well as the ability to spend due to being relatively frugal last year.

You could call that bad luck, you could also call it a failure to anticipate market conditions when choosing our targets.

Yeah I mentioned this yesterday or this morning, cant recall, but totally agree.

If we think this is bad wait until one of the big 6 lose their manager and come sniffing after Eddie.

We may as well fuck it off if that happens.

If this window has shown us anything it’s that the ladder has well and truly been pulled up and nothing any team below the cartel 6 in terms of revenue will be able to change that now.

Im very very quickly losing all interest in football because teams like us just can’t have a period of sustained success. One good year and your team is absolutely decimated by the big boys and there’s absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop it. The beautiful game my arse - the yanks have fucked it. Fat bastards.

Losing Howe would definitely nuke the project, and the scary thing is that it's a distinct possibility to happen in the not too distant future if PIF don't get their act together.

Absolutely. It’s a 4 team league with Man Utd pushing to get back to making it 5 team. This window they 5 have went miles clear.

Hopefully Man U won’t get it together, maybe Chelsea will also suffer from their ridiculously bloated squad. Wishful thinking but it’s what I’ve got.

It's similar to what we paid for Isak. It would feel like a much bigger gamble though.

Have we forgotten that Isak scored 6 goals in 30+ league games the season before we signed him?

Im not advocating signing Sesko, but risk wise I’m not sure there’s much between them.

We need to take Liverpools eyes out for Isak

Honestly think there could be another twist to this. Reckon part of the reason we haven't had the definitive 'Sesko wants Man U' from the likes of Ornstein, Romano, Jacobs etc is because they honestly aren't sure if they can do this without moving someone on.

I do think Sesko/his agent favour Man U, but I'm pretty sure they're scared to commit to that for fear that Man U can't actually do it at the moment.

I know I am completely bored and fed up with how the summer's transfer window is unfolding as a Toon fan, but crying out loud, it would be nice to be linked to someone we could perhaps get through the door 🤣🙈

We could completely go off-piste & target someone that 90% of the footballing world are also looking at [emoji38]

I think the only reason we are still involved is because they want to push up the price Man U have to pay as high as possible. Surely going there if they meet the minimum requirement.
