Holloway
I wonder if we've asked Parish if he's up for selling Guehi this time round
lovejoy
Just watched that Romano ‘update’. Basically says he’s open to joining us and Man Utd. the whole thing stinks imo, I’d much rather we brought Watkins in.
ponsaelius
Watkins at the likely asking price is a suicidal purchase from an FFP perspective. To be honest I think Wissa is too to some extent - but I can see the numbers reported working as a short term signing.

Elephant
I was one of them who brought up Sesko and tbf it does seem like a situation we don’t want to be part of. Either he wants us or doesn’t - and it’s really clear which one is happening. Even if we sign him, it’s either going be very expensive flop or his agent going all in getting him new contract or pushing him to other clubs in 1-2 years. Rather get someone who has that experience in bigger clubs and just wants to find a great place to play for longer. Someone like Goncalo Ramos or Kolo Muani. I know we are looking for young developing players but with this one, I would rather take few years more experience and feeling that player is not just using us. oldtype
Yeah I'm not super thrilled if this guy is the best replacement we could reasonably get for Isak. His record doesn't seem to suggest that he's some kind of superstar to begin with, the agent antics are annoying and suggestive of poor character, and it says volumes that Arsenal had a clear path to signing him and decided to pass. Also spooks me a bit that it's only us and Manchester United who want him. They're desperate, and their recruitment is always a shambles. How's the last young European striker they spent sixty million pounds on doing? Right course of action here is to get one last year out of Isak and shop for a replacement next year, when the market will presumably be slightly less inflated and there will be better options out there, even if our Isak fee ends up being a bit less. r0cafella
I hope our recruitment team understand the simple fact that whoever we get is going to be a downgrade on what we are about to lose. Of course we are going to get bent over too, waiting until August in a inflated market will do that.

Man Utd, Arsenal and Newcastle have chased him this summer - that’s hardly proof that the lad isn’t good enough

John P
Not that bothered on missing out on this guy. Him and his agent are clearly twats who would be itching for another move in 1 or 2 years time

Loki679
Genuinely reckon we might have dodged a bullet here. Something about this guy just seems off. Edited August 1, 2025 by loki679

r0cafella
Hopefully we pivot to Samu although obviously that would be a risk as well. Seems like exactly the kind of player who Eddie could help kick on though.
AyeDubbleYoo
I think Sesko would be class here if he was invested in coming and worked with a top attitude and all that. Better than he’ll be at Man U. But if he doesn’t have that enthusiasm there’s not a lot we can do. We’re certainly not going to go down the route of going crazy with money to get people to pick us. What the means for our future targets we’ll have to see.
