We won’t need two strikers unless we are completely subservient to Liverpool and let them bend us over.

Yeah - get Jackson in and with it being a World Cup year and window being closed isak will be playing come start of afcon. If isak goes then buy a £30m or so striker like villa or Brighton always seem to or get vardy in for one season - either way to not buy a 24y/o with not a bad record (around one in three) and gets in a lot more positions, is a handful and seemingly wants to  play rather than just pick up money like some then I’m all in personally.

So why not try and sign a striker who wont be missing for 6 games.

If a player improves you over the course of a full season, you don't pass on signing them just because they'll be missing for a month.

AFCON players probably leave middle December. So technically a club could line up a signing to arrive 1/1 and not have as much of an impact. Never happens of course.

I wouldn't be surprised if we cobbled up a last minute deal for this lad. We've had a good relationship with them since our takeover and it seems they want rid.

Feel like its the only realistic option remaining tbh.

Aye it seems that way. A deal at around 50m is also ok for us. 10m a year cost means the deal could actually be cheaper than Wissa on an annual basis oddly.

I’ve fully come round to this now like, ffs.

I feel like the forum is suffering from some kind of syndrome adjacent to stockholm. Every time I've seen this guy his decision making has been awful and seems to have an attitude problem as well.

We're basically relying on him being Howe'd which of course is very possible.

At this point I think he's the player with the best guarantee of us having what we need as a team to compete at the level we want to.

For all his issues with finishing, IIRC Chelsea's good form over the last few seasons has always coincided with Jackson playing.

he’s the most similar profile to Isak that’s available. Just doesn’t have the dribbling or finishing ability.

I think we’d create a lot of chances for him, it’s just about improving those parts of his game.

Our team this year should be comfortably better than the Chelsea side of 23/24 in which Jackson scored plenty.

Fucking Isak was aal about tap ins anyways, Wor Jacko can do that just as well surely.

I'm not crying, you're crying

Still have a feeling this'll be a deadline day buy (or loan if Wissa arrives) because that'll be the cheaper way to do it. That's banking on no one gazumping us mind.

if Isak leaves, I agree.

i just can’t see Isak leaving.

He won’t join on loan Chelsea have a condition with UEFA that they must earn more from sales than they buy this window or else be banned from registering this window’s signings.

they want to buy more and are in deficit so they will want to sell Jackson

He has all the attributes to be one of Howe's favourite foot soliders in terms of his play style... but he is an absolute headcase, and not in the Bruno "will literally take a bullet for you because you leant him 50p once back in Primary School" kind of way that is ultimately good for a team.

In which case I guess the theory stacks up that he'll be cheaper to buy the closer we get to the deadline?
