Maybe it's blind optimism, but I have a feeling this will turn out to be a great signing. The stereotyical story of a great but stagnated talent that just needed a new challenge to rejuvinate himself and take his game to the next level.

Reading up on him, I think playing in his apparent natural position of left sided CM rather than on the wing will probably be an greater difference maker than overcoming apparent injury history.

Of course he needs to be available but I get the impression based on what I read that playing on the wing wasn't doing him any favours.

Is he left-footed?

Just watched a highlights video seeing as it's all but done...looks like he can crack them with both feet.

I recommend watching the highlights video for this one, you can see why Howe has jumped in, could be a really good player.

His dribbling ability and the manner in which he attacks space with the ball at his feet (under control) is really exciting. I thought our 4-3-3 under Howe looked nearly unstoppable at times when we had Willock at full pelt because he was flying up the pitch with the ball and making something happen. I think Ramsey is such a clever player, finds half spaces and has very good dribbling and close control.

Had a look and listened to couple Villa podcasts. It’s a case of sad to see him go but need the £40m but also a lot saying if he fulfills his potential and gets back to player he was in 2023 he’ll be a brilliant signing for us

that sounds very positive

We probably won't see it very often.  As we have good options for the left wing/forward position.  But I feel like Ramsey in the Willock role and playing with Joelinton in that dovetail setup that worked so well.  Would be pretty horrible to defend against.

I think with Joelinton's disciplinary record, the way he is 100MPH all the while and seemingly always playing through injuries.  Ramsey will get plenty of chances to shine from the start and good chunks of game time off the bench.

Games gone

We would be fuming if Isak did that on a story for a new Liverpool signing.

That's a shitty thing to do.

Unless Brentford have told him he can go as soon as they get the his replacement.

Although suppose we might have said the same to Isak, but it at least seems we’re a lot further on with Wissa than Liverpool are with Isak.

Can’t be any worse than Rivière.

I played Pickleball for the first time last night and now my back hurts. Best I can offer is a 3 minute cameo at the end of the game.
