We already knew he could play at left wing and central midfield and showed today he can also play deeper. Incredibly impressive outing. Love the versatility.

Could see he had something about him even when he was getting stick for not tearing up trees earlier in the season.

This guy has got the lot, I could watch him all day and not pay attention to the rest of the game.

We've got some unbelievable options for picking real horses for courses midfields when everyone is available

Was particularly surprised by how well he moved and showed for the ball in that deeper position, considering he's never really played there.

Especially as it's something I think Tonali tends to struggle with, despite having much more experience in that position.

Can’t believe how much he’s come on. Thought he was neat and tidy and nothing more. Great again today, really settled in and becoming a really effective player for us.

He's played himself into being a selection headache, looks hard to drop. If all our midfielders are ever fit at the same time we will have a lot of flexibility. Anyway he's been in excellent form for a good stretch of games now, very pleased to see it!

Class player, "our Anderson" because of PSR a Villa fan mate of mine said today.

I think they are worlds apart, but he is giving himself a real chance at entering the best CM three in the league!

(Yeah, I've had a drink - ignore me)

I was and I wasn’t. One of his best showings for us was when he played in a 2 against Bournemouth in the cup. He was always showing for the ball and demanding it, Bruno style.

That said. I always thought he was more of an attacking mid or more suited to playing off the left.

I just think he struggled early on as an 8 in Howe’s system. But he has picked it up now and looks comfortable right across the 3.

Was still getting caught out by being too square of flat. With runners always getting in behind. But that’s more of a tactical issue. As it happens most weeks.
