Good 30 minutes when the whole team were fired up, then vanished. Second half we may as well have had 10 men.

I don't see it either, scared to do the final pass, scared to take a shot - just seems to play it safe every time.

I see him as Willock’s long term replacement. Still think we desperately need a centre mid.

We’ve managed to get past him being the same person as Elanga, that’s progress.

Better. I think he'll never be more than a good squad player who'll be solid if unspectactular, but I think that's all he was ever going to be. Happy with his progress so far, hope he keeps it up

Not in terms of playing style exactly or profile but he reminds me of Jermaine Jenas.  Technically sound. Mobile. But doesn’t influence games the way you would want and not as progressive with the ball as you want either. 
 

Thought today was his best game so far and I can see how he can further improve. A year with Howe and he could be a very good player. Needs to consisbtebly be positive on the ball and snappy off it.

Also, @Andy I don’t think he’s superb. I think he’s got potential to be superb in Eddie’s team but for now I think he’s good enough for the first 11.

He’s a better footballer than Willock but I see what you mean in terms of a squad replacement.

I respect your opinion on him Doc, I hope you're proven right long term as that'll mean we're improving as a team.

I didn't think he was all that, two moments stood out for me, we were attacking and instead of passing he tries to take on Caicedo but fails and they are on the counter and then the foul which got them back in the game

 

He did take up some good positions, just wasn't effective enough with it

He’s ahead of Joelinton. Miley gets the nod in midfield when he can play there.

Better. Like any player he needs a consistent run of games, being in and out of the side won’t do him any good

It’s the positions he takes up between their defence and midfield, we find him more and this guy is mustard.

He was good as far as energy and pressing goes, and tbh that's half the battle. Still not convinced he resists the press very well though, he does still give the ball away too much.

I went mental when he did that. Think it was Murphy was wide open on the right and it was an easy pass. 

 

I did think he did quite well generally though. Faded second half when he got tired. 

 

He will have to show a little more than that to justify his price, but some encouraging signs today

In the first half, I'd agree.

I thought he was good for 35 and then for a spell in the second. But he did disappear out the game for spells. 
 

I like what he brings. He helps us to be better on the ball.

Unquestionably his best game for us (not a massively high bar granted). 
 

Felt like he was actually influencing the game, rather than just taking part in it.
