Really want him to be good for us but I’ll say it again; Ramsey, Elanga and Wissa for £150m is a crime.

To think someone signed off bidding £50m for Strand Larsen too. Fucking crazy.

Why is Wissa getting bundled in? He couldn't get into it tonight but beyond that he's looked sharp and scored.

I think he’s decent Wissa. I don’t think he’s £55m decent though.

We obviously were desperate at that point but we still massively overpaid imo.

Isn't good at anything, other than running around the midfield a little bit.

Offers nothing actually positive.

Terrible signing, when we needed someone actually creative.

It's too early to say with him imo.

He's tidy in possession doesn't really give the ball away.  Wins the majority of his duels.  Haven't seen him pass into the final third yet.  Sure there is more to come from him.

Solid but unspectacular start.

Personally more worried about Elanga.

He was unfortunate with knee injury and doesn’t deserve to be bundled in with Ramsey / Elanga who look woeful, but Wissa will forever be poor business because it’s £55m for a 29 year old. And considering evidence so far suggests it’s him or Wolte, it’s £55m for rotation. We need him to essentially be like 3 seasons of 24-25 Wissa to justify it. Having 21-24 Wissa and 25 goals in 100 games wouldn’t make it a good deal IMO.

I’m concerned about this lad. Good reputation. Has some fundamentals.  But he weekly giving Jermaine Jenas down to the nickname. No impact.  No presence. No forward ball.

I wanted him off at half time.

Joe didn’t do much when he came on. But his presence alone meant something.

I stand by this. If we are to make it to the top, we have to be bigger presence and tougher then the rest. We’ll never be that team with Ramsey in it I fear.

He had two promising games on the spin. But he was about a 4/10 at best first half. He was terrible, shrunk and then seemed to hide from

the ball. The fact he came out after half time was a joke. Never mind staying on for another 20 odd minutes second half.

That’s more of a gripe with Howe and his reactive, slow and predictable subs, mind.

'All Premier League proven players!'

'Yeah, but they're average players at best, given the price tag'

'They have proven their quality in the Premier League'

'I get that, but for that sort of money would it not be better value to look abr...'

'Premier. League. Proven. Quality.'

I’d sooner sign 8 or 9 players for £150m like some data nonce team and hope 3 or 4 hit than £150m on the golden trio from last summer.

Just fucking stupid in the PSR world football now operates.

That stumble shot says it all about where he is with his self belief at the moment. It was very reminiscent of Joelinton falling over and his shot hitting him in his own face...and we all know what Joelinton turned into for the last few years.

The problem for him and us is that at the moment we have too many players in that same mindset and I think they're all feeding off each other. One of the big risks with the sort of turnover we had in the summer I think.

Yep. That’s what decent scouting does.

Roefs + Sadiki for about £25m or Ramsey + (1 year of ) Ramsdale for about £45m

Not saying them two would move he needle for us but they’d have definitely had a part to play in our squad this season.

Just a load of guesswork and conjecture, basically.

We'll see in time if Wissa represents value for money.

Ramsey hasn't looked woeful either, though he had a bad half an hour last night.

We will, but people are putting their head in the sand IMO if they believe £55m for a 29 year old will represent value for money, especially when they’re competing for one position alongside a £65m signing.

It’s Man City 2009-10 type of business and signing Roque Santa Cruz.

Didn't we also try to sign Rodrigo Muniz? I wonder what's happened to him.

We stumbled upon Woltemade, who I believe will be a very good player for us in the long run, but the rest of our transfer activity, apart from Thiaw, has been an utter shambles.

From missing out on targets to other teams to paying over the top for dross that add next to nothing to the bottom line.

In the world of PSR, I fear this window is one that will be causing us issues the for the next 2 or 3 years at least.

Plenty of people had concern over the summer. Repeatedly they were told "how many has Howe got wrong"

I've never seen value in much of our summer signings to be honest - £45M for a Willock crock is absolutely mental especially when he's been out of form for a good 2 years

Ah well

I know everyone who didn't rate the signings want to close for business on it and be right but its still only been 4 months into multiple 5 year contracts like.

Wasn't that the whole point of signing so-called Premier League proven players? That they would hit the ground running?

We miss out on Europe next season and that will set us back a fair bit.

It's an argument for getting those players yeah. I don't think it means they can also be written off this quickly either though.
