Heron
Clearly a very talented footballer. Has had a tough ride this season but he'll pull through. Loveable character I reckon. Really embraced the walk around and kinda endeared himself to the fans further. Howe has tinkered to try and get what suits Nick and the team best and it hasn't quite came off yet. It will though - I reckon... in time.
KaKa
I think it's so perfect that he's started this last home game and got a goal off of a good performance. Nice way for him to go into the summer and come back stronger next season. Was great seeing some of his one touch link up play back again today. Opened up so many nice patterns of play and combinations that created chances. Much more to come I reckon.
sixx
God how I loved that him and Osula both started up front and shared 3 goals between them. But by god does this kid need to build some strength. Folds like an accordion as soon as someone touches his back.
Holloway
There's not many players out there that are similar, he's one off territory. We'd be fucking mental to let him go at this stage
Loki679
Was a nice finish. Would have been easy to shank that or stick it over the bar like wor Tubbs did against Arsenal.
Stottie
Great to see him back up front and doing well. Big Nick in midfield was an experiment that failed badly, but credit to him for trying and not moaning about it publically. Losing Bruno placed us in a crisis and in hindsight destroyed our season. Whitley mag
Even when we had Isak we were still crying out for something different against teams playing a low block at SJP. This bloke is different and unless we can get our money back, or a really compelling alternative emerges we need to stick.

Kid Icarus
Forgot to mention this last week, but my SiL works quite high up for a food brand. Newcastle got in touch with them last week to redesign their match day menu to include more vegan stuff and the Big Friendly German (a vegan) is going to be leading it, as well as doing all the marketing. A small thing, but you'd imagine it means he stays. Edited May 18 by Kid Icarus

Mills and Boon
It's not about me being right. I'd be delighted to be proven wrong about him. Yesterday's game wasn't that
Andy
Thought he was a better yesterday, along with a few others. We were playing the third worst team in the league though, so it's probably best to be cautiously optimistic rather than getting carried away.
Toonpack
His tight control/lay offs and vision in confined spaces could be our key to finally unlocking the low block if/when teammates learn to read him, which should come in time.

Woltermade is fine and a long term investment I think our issue is that we don’t quite have the player profiles to suit or to go where EH wants us to go - the summer hopefully addresses that issue in so much we focus on the technical element when recruiting

I'm still worried about having a striker who lacks pace and power, but he's a good player if we can somehow integrate him into our line up.
AyeDubbleYoo
One lovely moment on the extended highlights where he rolls the ball from right to left foot past a defender and then plays a little through-ball to Bruno. Also one that didn't make the highlights where he looked to be losing the ball then improvised a lobbed pass to Osula that was just blocked.

I definitely think it's fair to acknowledge that the competition wasn't good while also feeling like that 4-2-3-1 is much more suitable for this group than 4-3-3. Still needs work and hopefully the summer can provide more quality to make it feel more complete as it's obvious there's still quite a lot of obvious problem areas regardless of what formation Howe attempts to try. SteV
That was probably the best we’ve functioned as a team with Woltemade playing in that position (small sample size obviously). Although somewhat hard to judge given West Ham were a shambles until they made the early sub, and not really much cop after that either. Feel like Eddie is desperate to find a role for him in the team, but obviously not at the expense of how the rest of the team performs as a result ‘accommodating’ him. HawK
He definitely benefited from having more technicians on the pitch around him, e.g. Ramsey for Joelinton and Hall for Dan Burn. No point having a silky player who's going to lay off these lovely little passes if there are comparative cart-horses running around him. Loved the interplay between Bruno, Wolte and Ramsey. Our performance was like night and day after he went off as we settled into end-to-end hoof-ball as we took him and Barnes off. I think we need to do more tactically to be patient in the build-up, it looks like we're trying to force a transitional phase when there isn't one. Saw it a couple of times with Bruno yesterday where he'd have space after receiving the ball in a 6 position, and his only thought is the quick over-the-top through to Osula/Barnes when he had all the time to walk it up the pitch and get us up the field. He didn't do this every time, mind, but was noticeable.
TK-421
Just pleased for the lad, not going overboard, but it was an improved display from him generally, little lay-offs, winning the ball back, along with the finish, which he didn't snatch at. Hopefully do his confidence the world of good, and hopefully see him play a similar role again next weekend. Edited May 18 by TK-

KaKa
If we fully go 4-2-3-1 next season and Nick stays, who would you see being rotated with him in that position? Or would you want someone else brought in for that position?
