He was a club director and is still heavily involved with the club.

I don't think he should be in charge of Manchester games, either city or the other lot, but that's just proximity to where he lives rather than anything else

No one in the world is an Altrincham fan without having at least a second team. If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.

Think one of the key reasons why where struggling this season has been Burn/Schar at CB and the goalkeeping  situation.

We can’t buy a clean sheet at the moment and think both CB’s especially have shown real signs of regression this season.

Think we’ll score tomorrow but getting any result will depend on cutting out the basic mistakes. Where becoming a real soft touch and will need a much improved performance defensively to get anything tomorrow, despite their injuries.

The midfield is the issue not the defence. For some reason the structure isn’t working this season. A couple of seasons ago we could fall into a low block and be water tight. Now there’s too many gaps between midfield and defence and players going walkabout. We’ve had our first choice FBs in recently and Thiaw has been our best player. The defence isn’t the main problem (GK excepted).

Both are an issue at the moment.

Ill throw another slant on it, earlier in the season we looked disjointed through having one forward who we were getting used to as they were getting used to the prem added to both first choice full backs being out. Now we are less disjointed but need to manage things better, maybe needing a formation/tactic change as games go on as the gaps we've left through the middle in the last 10 or 15 if games have been huge and put tge defence under more pressure than needs be. If we insist on 433 we may need to go 442/451 towards the end of games.

I disagree. Our keeper and defence has let us down of late. Even if the midfield has been far from it's best.

Will be a good atmosphere, they’ll be trying to win it which will play into our hands.

Bookies have them as marginal favourites but it’s splitting hairs 6/4 v 13/8.

If we can play like we did first half against Chelsea we’ll cause them problems. It’s how we hang on which will define it.

Had this conversation with my gf's, sisters, boyfriend who is also a Man U fan, he said he expected us to smash them, but I think he's just hedging his bets to save face if we do win. I said we'll blow them away early on, but with our away record and our inability to maintain our high press for the full 90 that they'll get a chance to get a result in the dying stages of the game. We'll need to score at least twice to have a chance of winning this, but if we play like we did against Chelsea then we'll be too much for them. I'm sticking with my 1-2 prediction.

Great opportunity tonight but we have our weaknesses too so who knows what the outcome will be. Christ if we could get a win going into the next handful of games…….we still aren’t that far off 4th despite our inconsistency, but that is our issue, sometimes we just don’t turn up.

Fucking hate these cunts.

Every fucking plastic manc I’ve had the misfortune of encountering since the 1990’s, arrogant entitled cunts.

Kids on the school bus in Northumberland in 1996 taking the piss because “they’d” won the league. Fucking arseholes had never been to Manchester in their lives. Probably couldn’t have pointed to Manchester on a map. Subhuman scum.

Let’s smash these cunts into smithereens. And then dance on their broken souls.

It always amuses how North East based plastics absolutely despise Newcastle. Nothing finer than beating Man U and Liverpool and seeing these cunts go into hiding.

It is weird, despite knowing a few Mackems the most stick I actually got after the Derby was from a Man U fan

My brother supports Man U, he is adamant both teams playing at their best would make it an easy win for Man U

I find that an absolutely outrageous take so hopefully we can be at our best and batter them, I need to be able to gloat

They have been mostly irrelevant for a good 10 years. We've had no issues beating them last few years and I think we can beat them today.
