To start with, I firmly believe Howe should be the manager next season. He deserves, after all he has achieved, a summer to reset and get it right in my view.

BUT there is clearly an appetite for some fans for change, so who are people realistically thinking we should go after?

My absolute loyalty to Howe aside, I would assume Iraola is the best realistic candidate?

I don't want him to leave either but accept he will do at some point and I'm sure we're more than 50% of the way through his tenure here. So it's important that we're looking to the future.

Fuck knows who I'd go for though. For my sins I don't know enough about the wider context. I could happily give a list of names I wouldn't want, like.

What I hope we'd find is someone who had different ideas but who carried themselves with the same grace and excellence of Howe. That'll be what I miss the most about the guy when he does eventually go.

Might be someone who’s not obvious to an average punter like us on here.

Alsono was managing Sociedad B Team and then roared to an unbeaten season and title win at Leverkusen. For example.

EtH? (He around)

Almiron

Maresca

Spoilt for choice.

There's tons of realistic options that would jump at the chance. Many more promising than most of them.

Maresca is widely tipped for the City job at the end of the season, so I am assuming not realistic.

Be amazed if the board had the foresight for anything like that. The only name mentioned at all so hat in the media has been Hurzeler.

It’s likely to be Jose if Howe leaves this summer.

Yes he is past his peak, but his mentality may be what the owners need to see, they are still learning how to run a club after all. He would also win a trophy within 2 years before it falls apart

id rather Ancelotti and believe he would come after the World Cup.

Xavi would be interesting but a real gamble, as would a Cesc.

personally wouldn’t go for a current PL manager.

there will be plenty of movement in managers this summer, and some big names will be available after the World Cup

It'd be the Sporting Director's job.
