I liked Gordon more than most but I don't think we lost a huge amount in terms of Gordon the left-winger. The real loss is in Gordon the versatile forward who can do a reliable job up front (with an unreal penalty record).

All this to say: I don't think Munoz needs to be amazing to be an effective replacement. He could even be an upgrade quite quickly.

What I liked about Gordon and it's a fairly underrated thing in general imo, is how good he could be in relieving pressure across the midfield and defense by getting defenders to dive in and win free-kicks from them. That direct pace and off-the-ball movement is something we leveraged really well during his time here, albeit considerably less during the final months of the season.

But I agree, if we had more technical quality on the ball for that wing, it does open the possibility to a more effective overall attacking style for the team.

The amount of chancers on the internet blows my mind.

watched a lot of Osasuna, have we? Give over.

Don’t need to watch football matches anymore, just look at the stat reports and you can pretend you’re an expert about any player in any league.

Just Jake Jackman saying what a superb job Victor Munoz is doing at Osasuna.

I'd argue we only had a few months of Gordon being anywhere close to being reliable up front

For the majority of his time here when we stuck him up front it didn't work at all

When I did a quick Google of him there I noticed that the permanently knackered Graeme Bailey wasn't content with reporting on us being after him, so had to hoy in that we're also trying to sign Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid. He just can't help himself, he just loves lying and you have to respect that.

"impressed by the project" is an interesting line when plenty of people on here told us that the project was over.

Can Munoz patch the the hull of the sinking ship at the last minute and prevent a wreck? We will see.

Give whoever is pushing the hardest in training and wants to play for this club the shirt iyam.

He's also probably going to be playing at the World Cup until mid-July. By the time he has a break, starts pre-season and gets up to Eddie Howe fitness levels, it's going to be around about then anyway you'd imagine. Bring him in slowly I reckon.
