It's scruffy now, God knows how it will look with seven years of zero investment. The changes they've made to the training ground suggest they aren't going to just completely ignore SJP if/when they decide to move elsewhere. JigsawGoesToPieces
Was interesting Luke Edwards "source" was saying it will be more around 68k for a new stadium or between 60-65 to stay. Look at it that way and thats a hell a lot of money £800m to stay v £1.5bn to move It wont be Yasir who will sign off on it anyway will be someone higher in PIF, i can imagine the Matfen Hall meeting was maybe a discussion of options before Yasir/Jacobo Solis takes it back to PIF
gbandit
It’s not as simple as - “this one costs £800m more”. It includes potential for future revenue, potential for further expansion, more control over the whole area where the new stadium would be, future projections on costs for remedial work etc. There will be an enormous number of variables they’re looking at when making the decision. The PR associated with having a stadium built with their money and in the image they want is probably a big factor as well in the sportswashing stakes

JigsawGoesToPieces
Thought Jacobo Solis is quite influential for PIF as he heads of their investments, he is obviously now on our board of directors too which surely helps.

Many more seats needed than that. 23,000 additional seats in the "Leazes Park Stadium" at 75,000. That is what is needed to make the whole thing worth doing! Part of me wonders if it's part of a campaign of lowering expectations so that when a final, bigger plan is revealed it picks up additional pro-move momentum, that they're obviously still worried about. It’s about building a multi use venue from scratch for us to get max profits. People don’t want to hear it but it needs to be multi event. NFL, turn it into a race track, concerts. Anything else we can think of.

There’ll be a lot more executive boxes around a new stadium, not to mention increased sponsorship. Edited February 26 by Whitley mag

Stifler
Genuinely think Leeds could be one of the few clubs who could build a mega stadium like what we want to do. They have the fanbase, they have the catchment area for other events, they have the land nearby. I think a 1 or 2 stands extension is a bit of a let down to be honest. huss9
despite going to away games for decades, last night was the first time i got to Anfield. i despise Liverpool only slightly less than the mackems and just slightly more than arsenal. but i have to say thats the best away ground in England I've been to. the building has character, great facade, is clean, and beautifully lit. loads space around it. even inside the concourses, though dated, werent cramped. stands close to the pitch. strange that it has no giant screens but thats ok. pisses on the likes of new builds like citeh, emirates and even spurs. just a shame about who plays there. Good atmosphere too, singing from all round the ground for most of the game not just one or two stands either.
