NE27
Can't believe people don't like the look of leazes terrace!? Okay it's nothing mind blowing but I find the simple symmetry of it class, very traditional and British to me. Mind, I also think a lopsided St James' is class, so my opinion is pretty weak
Doc
Would it be feasible to have level 7 leave the atmosphere? The gain in height would be phenomenal, no need to move, pair of Pinz nez on every seat, sorted.
RS
Someone on here will be suggesting next we pull down the Mayfair and replace it with a shed with a load of radge bars in.

I came from a small village with nowt going on hadn’t seen “real” architecture before. St James’ lopsided mess is one of the great things about it imo. Gives it character and uniqueness. STM
SJP is one of the best stadiums in the world for two reasons, firstly the size of the leazes end is unreal, even when you have seen it dozens of times and the view of the city from L7 is astonishing. Secondly, its smack bang in the centre of one of the countries iconic cultural cities and one of Europe's best cities for nightlife. The amount of people who can get shitfaced pre and post match can't be understated. It's first on everyone's away trip list. If you watch Fozcast, Ben Foster talks about not only how mint the atmosphere is in SJP but also how all the away footballers used to look forward to going out on the piss after the match. Leave SJP and we lose ALL of this, potentially. Thankfully the owners have seen sense. Hopefully the council (which should prioritise NUFC) and the club can get their heads together and come up with something for stadium expansion. I'd like to hear from an architect to see if they can think of a way around things.

Ahhh a fellow man of culture. Also came from the sticks and thought Newcastle was some kind of metropolis from the movies. I also find Brentfords stadium really interesting and quirky tbh, love the way things are worked around their surroundings. It's character that can't be simulated in modern bowls etc.

As good as Wembley, Spurs and the Emirates are, in terms of quality, there is a distinct lack of imagination IMO. Compare it to that birds nest stadium in China or whatever. It's like when every club in the country built a new stadium exactly the same ;Leicester, Sunderland, Boro, Southampton etc. Bloody boring.

WarrenBartonCentrePartin
It's hard to put into words how class it is having a stadium in the city centre. Being a one-club city, the buzz in town on a matchday is absolutely brilliant. I love it. So many people, all going about their own little individual matchday rituals. If we win, it lingers well into the evening. Everyone's on a high and up for a good time. There's been occasions I've not wanted to go home.

The feel good factor of a win dribbles out into the little side streets of Newcastle and into the bars and clubs. This just doesn't happen elsewhere with such ease. You can go out after the match just to discuss the game and end up in the casino at 3am. Just as and example, at Brighton you had to get a train out from the town to the middle of nowhere, just kills it for me. The entire day was brilliant and it was a city-wide party atmosphere afterwards. I'd have been out well into the small hours if it wasn't for the early morning start beforehand! Wandy
I'd bet money that most Newcastle residents don't even know what Leazes Terrace is or where in the city it is, that's how culturally relevant it is within the city. The people who know of it are those who follow NUFC. Personally I'd knock it down in a heartbeat to build a new SJP.
