cubaricho
Viduka is not the sort of player you can rely on, but for me he would still be in our strongest XI. You have to agree, he can really add a great creative spark when he's fit.

Newcastle Fan
We need him to penetrate the spurs defence once again, but he wont. Like about every other game this season, and forward. How is that not a problem in the long term? need to be getting rid of. Quality players in bold that are missing. nobby_solano
he's a great player but he's only really reliable as a squad player now, i reckon between him and fat ronaldo you'd probably cover the season and get a few goals
Raconteur
I've said many a time that I would love Big Marko to play for the Toon - but I've always added that I'm biased so to take my opinion with a pinch of salt! That horrible cliche "good technique for a big man" was never more true than with Viduka, truly a classy striker and one can only wonder what might have happened if a top notch manager had shaped his career and instilled some discipline and consistency into him. More talent than Le Sib and Shola combined, his style of play means we could probably squeeze another two or three seasons out of him, providing a great foil for Owen or Martins, or an extra dimension as a sub. Unfortunately, I have little doubt Roeder would turn his nose up at him - using a combination of age, wages and injury record as plausible but ultimately insufficient reasons. You seem to have miss-spelt "lazy, crap attitude for a big man". Considering I admitted personal bias and flaws in the player (including attitude), not to mention being written months before he was even signed, well..., I can't say I'm embarrassed you dragged that one up - in fact I'd say it's a frigging crystal ball! Mr. Snrub
Viduka's finished. Get Heskey for around £2-3m in January. If Owen stays, that would be a very good partnership.
k2
The lad may have to retire. His Achilles is not responding to any treatment. This might end his career it is being seriously considered.

Amazing how he bolded out Baheng but not Viduka. Viduka is player with quality, no doubt about it, actually i supported the signing of him. But at the same time in my mind he wont last the over the summer. Cant count him in the list of quality when he doesnt play. The other ones have injuries, but will play regular football week in and week out (atleast i hope so), but i dont belive Viduka will. Agree with your point but did you ever see Baheng? k2
Check my only other ever story on here. Its bang on. I’m not saying he is finished 100%, but they are discussing it as a real possibility, it is not responding to nay treatment or rehab.

Guest Sniffer
So other than this gut feeling, you have no idea whether or not they'll turn out to be any good. Just out of interest, have you seen them play?
Guest Sniffer
Have seen them both play yes. Maybe not a million times, but as it seems by people who has written about them etc, they seem like some good prospects imo That is why i feel they are quality infront of Viduka, who WAS quality, but isnt anymore. Now he is just injury prone and not playing games. If Baheng and Lua Lua doesnt become any better, they should be scrapped too. I remember C. Ronaldo being a s*** kid with too much ego and alot of talent. Now he has too much ego and is a f***ing great footballer. I live for today, what Viduka did some years back doesnt matter, but what Lua Lua and Baheng COULD do in the future matters to me. OK, now we're getting somewhere. They've gone from quality players down to good prospects which seems reasonable. See, if you just stop and think instead of spouting out some drivel, you eventually get there. As for living for today but the future matters.......I'll just leave that alone. You're confused enough.

The only issue being he's never fit. When he played for us last year I thought he was superb. Baheng and Lua Lua have potental but Viduka IS a has been, fat, slow and unbelievably injury prone. Viduka was once good and is good if given a chance when he's in space, he'll probably finish. But if he isn't presented with a chance and/or has someone marking him then he is pretty useless. Thank god his contract runs out this summer. For that reason i'd try Baheng and Lua Lua ahead of Viduka and if the turn out to be just as bad they can follow him out the door. Lua Lua looked potentially good (similar to Zoggy) but i'd have to see more of him. Martins and Owen are a million miles better than Viduka.
