It was bizarre. I looked it up before I posted it and it was the 2-1 defeat on 17 April 1995, exactly thirty years ago (yesterday). Seems like yesterday! I was only 20. 😭 I miss those days of short, pithy spontaneous terrace humour - seems like these days chants/songs are more robotic and every team just sings variants of the same. The two responses to the original post suggested shoe-horning current players names in, which kind of defeats the point and makes it something different.

Sometimes you see Bruno and Tonali playing close to each other as a ‘double pivot’ as I think it’s called. Bruno looks very effective and comfortable like that. I think if we got a player in the style of Cunha who is a physical 10 type then the formation could effectively change to a 4 2 3 1.

Always makes me laugh when people suddenly become medical experts on players when they haven’t got a clue what’s actually going on - only the player and medical team will know exact details. He’s had his ACL surgery which by all accounts has gone very well. The second op was a knee scope to remove a loose body, it’s fairly easy to recover from as it’s not structural. I don't think there's another CB like him in world football. We'll never be able to replace him like for like. His finishing, ball striking and passing range are better than most midfielders.

this 100%. we need to be on the lookout for a centre back with at least some of his passing range. it’s a rare thing though
