  1. Past hour
  2. There's only one keeper who should replace Pope. Marco Carnesecchi. I'll keep saying his name until it happens. Obviously we're not gonna spend £50m on a keeper though.
  3. Did you buy your house for cash, or was it, like me, borrowed at way more than 1.7x my salary, over a vast period, with the majority of everything I pay being interest?
  4. I guess with so many teams for so many positions it’s hard for us to clearly understand our chances. But we do tend to assume every other team is going to collect loads of points.
  5. Rather we didn't roll the dice on a young French League goalie, especially one who'd be going to AFCONS. There's lots of goalies likely available without having to take that kind of punt. Kelleher (not sure how much better than Pope he'd turn out) Trafford, Lunin from Madrid. On another topic, Kang-in Lee. We were linked a couple times before, seems he may be moved this summer. Would offer real technical quality and attacking threat in attacking midfield and cutting in off the right. Of all the players I can think of, this would massively improve us. Like his work rate too, not afraid to get stuck in. Of course there's a big marketing aspect as well, draw huge attention from Asia. ,
  6. finishing second with a trophy to celebrate this season would be a monumental achievement the only slight downside to that is people's expectations - it's unlikely we repeat that next season and then you get people questioning Howe's future at the club and all the usual shite I'm not expecting a title challenge next season and just worry Howe might become a victim of his own success balancing European football with domestic will be difficult

“Solid defensively at this level” might be a tad understated for a team absolutely smashed every defensive record going.
  8. Yeah its so silly, chances for that to happen according to the bookies atleast are going to be like 10-20%. Just placed a bet on Chelsea+Villa this friday where i will almost double my money if they both win. And those two games are by far easier than the two after.
  9. The fat cunt wasn't just tight fisted, he actively pursued a strategy that prevented NUFC from being able to compete We were nothing more than a free billboard for his rancid shops, what happened on the pitch was of virtually no consequence to him
  10. Reckon the final badge design will have a shade of green in it.. the brief will be keeping the heritage of all the previous designs while giving a nod to the current owners. They need to be super careful though.. it's thin ice territory and one misstep and all the good up to now will have been undone.
  11. It’s not all about money, owners can damage their clubs in all sorts of ways. Ashley ripped the heart out of this club and cheapened everything about it. The damage he did to our standing reputationally is probably the worst thing of all and the way he destroyed so many fans’ relationship with the club. I think the Glazers are doing enormous damage to Man U but let’s not get into some stupid debate about who’s worse than who and whose dad is bigger than your dad
  12. I don't think they care about that. Those stories probably won't even make it out of England won't damage the global fan appeal. Those tours of Asia and America will become much less profitable if the club is in the Championship though. The revenues need to be maintained or the whole lot will fold and fast, and that can only really happen with continued success.
  13. I like the atmosphere you get in places with wall-to-wall noise. It turns up a level when the action of the pitch gets going but keeps a minimum atmosphere level when the action is slow
  14. I was never trying to suggest he invested and know he was tight-fisted. I'm meaning the act of actually removing money from the clubs cash reserves. I don't think any other club owners in England took dividends from their clubs.
  15. History is already being kind to Neymar. No coincidence he's the favourite player of the most exciting teenagers around in Yamal and Doue have him as their idol. None of the players that grew up idolizing CR7 are as enjoyable to watch
  16. This thread has me teetering on the verge of adding dislike reactions to the forum. 'class' ffs
  17. I would put it to you mildly that the brands image is suffering just as much from the penny pinching. Amorim having to pay for his own staff is not only him sticking two fingers up to the owners but it’s an absolutely look to any prospective new players and coaches.
  18. You could only ever argue that he 'put money in' when we went down, but you'd also need to class the money he put in as the same money he kept away from the club in the first place.
  19. This is why I always annoy people by asking what they mean when they talk about atmosphere. We need to be clear about what we want.
  20. 'YNWA' Unless you decide to leave for a bigger club.. then do one

They have to spunk a load on Isidor and Le Fee, both who look nowhere remotely near suitable for the PL. £25m already burned if they go up for players not even bench ready.
  22. The Everton 'Spirit of the Blues' song is a banger and far superior to 'YNWA'.
  23. I take it back - 2 Magpies rather than 1. The link to the cities coat of arms is of its era. We should move on. I always thought that over time, we would become more Saudi-like, and that would be good for the team's success. The green kit and sponsorship were a first step of many.

    Dan Burn

He's my player of the season. Tonali is still young and will get those accolades but how often will Burn have the chance after the season he's just had?
  25. I was going purely off Swiss Ramble reports. If they're wrong then fair enough.
