We would need a central midfielder if we were to let go of Willock and Longstaff. I also don't expect both to leave personally.
-
What if we sold Willock and Longstaff and received like 40 odd million? Genuine question. I assume we’ll always take it to the limit while assuming (perhaps naively) that commercial income will increase year-on-year.
-
I agree. Waugh is a bit of a nerd but hes not a gobshite like Edwards or an old school hack like Hope. Waugh and Caulkin have no interest in transfer clickbait, or seriously diving deep into transfers, its not their thing. They will give you a long piece on someone's background story, whether its any good or not is entirely opinion but I do always laugh when I see people slag them off in the transfer thread. If you are going to Waugh for your transfer update, it's your own fault when you just see the same shit.
-
Your right, if we're honest the club is a bit of a "black box" nothing much gets out about anything.
-
And we went on to win a trophy and qualify for the UCL. Eales presence in the transition period has hardly had a detrimental effect. The club hired two people at least off top of my head to grease the wheels of the stadium project and guessing training ground. Would imagine when Eales leaves (next month?) someone will be in place.

Don't mind any of our local sports journalists really. But it's clear not many are in the loop on transfers, which is as it should be. So even if it's just educated guesswork from them at least it gives us something to talk about. I get the feeling there will be at least one name we're not expecting, but I think there has been too much consistent noise about Trafford for that not to be one of the pieces in the jigsaw. Not sure what there is to the Pedro chat other than suspecting we've been in for him in the past, likewise Guehi as was well reported. And we don't tend to give up on transfer targets. Would be very happy with those three and maybe one surprise.
-
Man Utd sniffing around Ekitike now.
-
Nice summary, I'd argue if he wants to go and club want rid thats an angle to squeeze a slighter price out of Bloom.
-
The more I think about it, the more i come to the conclusion that our opinion of him is largely based around the plight of the club. We've not been able to spend for 3 transfer windows which has caused some to have a distain for his weekly copy and paste pieces which never come to fruition. Pod on the Tyne does them no favours as well.
-
Waugh puts some good pieces out to be fair to him. He's a bit of a drip like.
-
That can't be real, just can't be. Just got to be fake. No one can be that stupid !
-
Agreed. @Seegull thanks for sharing
-
Aye baby Ryder not improved I see
-
yes, we are the richest in the world mate
-
Without selling a Purple? No.
-
That would be ideal but can we afford shelling out on all those players?
-
No Diomande mentioned but all other boxes ticked. Which is fine, as long we get them. If we buy other players and the names he's repeated a million times don't come to fruition when the athletic subscription can be shredded.
-
Pedro, Elanga, Guehi/Diomande, Trafford?
-
Salzburg is the most baffling one, can't recall them ever doing anything.
- Today
-
yeah probably a reasonable enough request, we've been fortunate to have the first game at home last 4 years or so since covid I think.
-
To be fair, nothing has actually moved and the club doesn't tell him anything. The athletic are kinda giving us the big club treatment by including us in these none updates every week.
-
Probably too much hassle. Could just make them play their first two games away like.
