  2. Wonder if it plays on a player's mind if they go to someone like Real Madrid or Liverpool for instance and win things, they're just another name amongst a long list, whereas if they stay together and do it here, they're immortals.
  3. I hope so, I've already gone through a handful of milestones already this season that were definitely when he was going to get his goal, the cup final being the latest. 90+6 winner at the Emirates in a couple of weeks will do nicely! Or did you mean for us to actually win the CL next year?

    What's that gonna solve.
  5. The important thing is that you do not lose Howe who is the true architect of your extraordinary season, despite some naivety he is an excellent coach. Rather I fear that you overvalue some players like Isaak who is a good player but not the phenomenon that I often read here.

This is where it’s all wrong with VAR and where Rugby Union are way ahead - the dialogue is completely wrong. The ref must always be in control - if this is rugby, VAR says look at the screen and the incident is replayed back from the start - from there on in the ref is in charge of what he wants to see - VAR stay quiet and don’t interfere - ref sees the slip - we move on 2 examples where VAR is a joke in football Evanilson - first thing ref is shown is the scissor motion - not how he got there Joe Willock v Palace (a few years back) - ref is shown Willock going into keeper - isn’t shown Mitchell pushing him in the back In 2 years we have the same problems still - refs need to grow a pear to and ask to see incidents from start to finish - not the end action first
  7. Reprehensible quotes, he should be ashamed.

Man Utd get the helping hand they needed and Bournemouth aren’t inconvenienced for the next three games. Everyone wins (sort of).
  9. Only quotes I can see... “People should realise what they did to Roma,” Postecoglou said. “They did it in Rome as well. “They grabbed my attention back then – before we knew we were going to play them. “They have an outstanding manager and they play an aggressive, expansive style of football. It should be a cracking game. “We are in a heavy schedule of games but at the same time, we are in a good moment. We’re in good form, players are fit. “Bodo are similar to us when we go in to our Champions League qualifiers as they are in pre-season mode at the minute. That could potentially work both ways. We have the match sharpness, but they could have a freshness about them. “I’ve got no doubt they will both be cracking games because of the way they play – and we won’t change our approach. “We are heading to the Arctic Circle so even the Scottish weather will go out of the window. “That’s the beauty of European football. For me as a manager, that’s what gets the adrenaline pumping. Testing yourselves in different conditions against different teams and different types of set ups. “Going in to the Conference League, we can test ourselves against some great clubs. “Bodo/Glimt have been Norwegian champions these last two years and they play aggressive, expansive football. “I can’t wait for it.”

  11. Anybody take Soucek from West Ham, if he was available given their rumoured PSR predicament? Still got a couple of years on his contract, so don’t think he’d be ‘bargain’ territory, unless they needed to sell for the June deadline, like us with Anderson/Minteh. Also, not really a great age profile given we’re probably looking to push the average squad age down. On the positive side I could see him being very useful squad player. Good size and physicality that Howe likes. Maybe someone who could cover (to a degree) what Joelinton gives us better than our current backups?
  12. Surely there's no way Postecoglu said that. I can't find a reference to it anywhere. While Postecoglu can be a bit combative in interviews with the media, he's usually fairly respectful to other clubs and managers.
  13. Surely they'll return as front of shirt sponsor next season too, if only for the 'Return of DAMAC' headlines.

Transparency would help as well. Did they even acknowledge the slip for example. I know rugby is a different sport but there are some very subjective calls to make on head shots these days. Often you'll see the on field officials and TMO discuss various factors, this would be a classic case of it looks bad but there are mitigating factors. They don't always get it right of course but the transparency helps IMO.
  16. As long as Chelsea are liable to cover the insurance claims for anyone dying in their Chelsea bedrooms I’m happy with the PSR arrangement. What a farce. I’d just kick Chelsea out of the league, they’re no longer a football club. They’re just a brand with a partner club at this stage
  17. DAMAC is all "style" but zero sense. They literally had a condo where you could drive your car into an elevator and it would take the car up to your bedroom. Never thought that perhaps having car exhaust fumes in the place you sleep may not be the greatest idea.
  18. £150k a week after a decent season in the Prem. Some muggy team will give it to him as well.

Going to the screen has become a complete waste of time. It’s literally just pantomime entertainment that slows the game down for another couple of minutes (at least). Either referees need to start developing the confidence to stay with their original decision (where appropriate obviously) or just scrap it and go with what the VAR decides, and if it’s wrong it’s on them.
  20. I suppose you're just advertising that development.
  21. Just another item in the game of oneupmanship which rich people love to play - at our expense i might add.
  22. Have a feeling he is gonna score a crucial late goal to send us to Champs League glory.
