Isn’t is all just a natural part of the process? I don’t think anyone’s “being let down” or “doing a bad job” really… it’s just the nature of the transfer market at the moment and the fact that we’re trying to be competitive for players we really want, but due to PSR predominantly, we’re struggling to compete on wages when one of the traditional big boys get involved. I’m sure we will sign players, but to me it’s pretty clear we’re working through our list in ambition order (i.e. trying to get the ones we’ll have big competition for first). Not the time to panic or point fingers, yet. Maybe in a month.
-
I ask you again: Who are these proven strikers we should be after, given our current squad, it's flaws and PSR situation? I am happy with 3-4 names
-
Bit late iyam
-
Got to have three/four players for every position..
-
Bit early for this kind of chat isn't it?
-
DCL I'm actually embarrassed for you that you think he would be an option. You keep telling yourself though
-
It's not that surprising really. The cartel clubs are practically the PL authorities paymasters.
-
Do they really need a 4th player capable playing as a striker? Its mental, Im so freaking tired of watching Chelsea on every god damn transfer rumour.
-
-
Where about to find out how flexible Eddie is prepared to be in the transfer market, if he handcuffs the club to targets with PL experience then we’ll be looking at 3 signings tops as we just don’t have the budget.
-
I fear we may just have too many cooks in the transfer committee. its been a while since I’ve seen the Amazon documentary but I seem to recall Staveley having to really work on Solis / PIF to get them to authorise the Gordon signing.

Based on the fact Pedro would probably come in as a 10, then I can see us maybe moving on to Kudus who could also offer the same versatility with a preference for operating in the middle. Hope so tbh.

Or this: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/32823335/chelsea-escape-points-deduction-secret-payments-abrahmovich/ You can bet your bottom dollar if it was any of their other favourite 4 - Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd - they’d avoid it too. Us or City?
-
That's how I read it as well.
-
So Pedro has cost as much as Olise

Chelsea's 'we don't really want them but you can't have them' model is really fucking annoying. -
I assume we’re trying to buy the players he wants, but we’re finding they’re unattainable for us, which was quite predictable given we’re going after other premier league clubs best players. If it’s a case of us going after the wrong players then surely he’s also responsible.
-
He was another Adam Johnson as far as I'm concerned. Never wanted him part of the ranks who are all likable.
-
If there's a positive to take out of this, we still have all our money at hand. It could mean if we shop abroad that we can sign 4-5 players instead of 3, and that would really boost our squad. Assuming our scouts have done their homework.
-
Ooof what a strike that is
-
I would too. He’s a beast.
-
We've acted with speed, we just went for the "wrong" players.
-
All we have so far is tabloid talk, obviously there's no smoke without fire but we don't know for sure that we're aiming for premium PL talent. We've had a disappointing 2 years with zero transfers so yes we're all on edge, but we know we have money to spend, we just need to trust that we know what we're doing and we will get what we need/are looking for. Howe and his team have yet to let us down so until they do for me they get the benefit of the doubt and I won't be getting ansy or flapping about arbitory time lines.
