Why don't we do the legit stuff like training kit sponsors first before we start selling stuff to ourselves?

I don't believe that the club doesn't hold any assets that could be deemed semi-valuable... to sell to itself. But let's say we don't. What's stopping the club buying assets and selling it to themselves for PSR gains?

That's fine, I think we can all concede that. But I think there's a line between the manager knows more and boiling it down to something so cut and dry. Just don't think it adds much personally, because if you applied to every discussion it would get boring very, very quickly.

I mean Howe sees something in him because we were willing to pay a fee for him earlier. That is why looks certain we are interested when he is free. He would take Wilson’s place. Wilson cannot run behind, hold up the ball or win duels. You could see when he came on last season he offered nothing. DCL would be target player and at least a some kind of physical precense in the box for the last moments. Signing DCL does not mean we don’t get a versatile forward player. We offered Wilson a deal and certainly wouldnt start another season with Wilson and Isak as the only options.

For exploiting loopholes I can't think of many others. We've both mentioned in the past we should have a training ground and kit sponsor but as for the type of thing that will bring in between Villas 50mill for their women's team and Chelseas 200mill, Im struggling.

Was thinking about this whole 'selling assets' thing, and I had a query, but not knowing too much about the the various company structures involved with Chel$ea and now A$ton Villa, it may not be possible. So, the main company, that reports its accounts to the PL for PSR/FFP sell assets to a sub-company which is all allowed and the loophole not closed. Thus giving the main company/Club the cash injection needs for PSR/FFP, but the sold asset stays within 'the group'. What is to stop, at some point in the future, the parent company winding up the sub-company, and absorbing it back into itself, along with those assets again? Is this the next play for a few years down the line, so the assets Chelsea (and Villa) sold 'themselves' end up back in the main ownership, to potentially, be sold again? Or would that not be possible/feasible?

More than likely, yes. I was probably being a bit flippant, sorry. The cartel wouldn't be bound by those rules but we certainly would.

Why not say that then? I don't see the point in what value "Eddie likes him" adds to be honest. I haven't watched him so idk, but I would assume if you've qualified for the CL you would be targeting a higher standard of player than one who is available for free. Like giving actual reasons why you think it makes sense is fair enough but boiling it down to the manager likes him so who cares defeats the point of this whole thing.

What did we sign and what did it say? If it says we won’t exploit loopholes - we’ve already done that. If it’s to not challenge the rules - we haven’t and won’t. This ‘signed prior agreement’ line doesn’t standup to scrutiny.

The point is that surely a) we are after DCL given all the links b) Howe sees DCL brings something to the squad that Wilson doesnt (he does) c) given our PSR restraints, it is quite easy to count 1+1 and understand that why we might look for a player like him. Like we were after Tosin, who isnt great either.
