  1. Past hour
  2. Fantastic player who's tailor made for Howe's style. That being said, I doubt he'd match Murphys output this season had he stayed, and would have struggled to get the playing time he wanted so in hindsight it was probably in his best interest too to make the move. Shame it wasn't just a season long loan.
  3. Their speed on the transition is soooo bad for us. Especially without Joelinton. Willock against Palmer? aaaargh
  4. I think he's one of the best right backs the league has seen
  5. Man himself has announced it on Twitter. Replies as level headed as you'd expect.
  6. By a few years you mean 30?
  7. If he was trying to show how he’s moved on mentally to Brighton being his club he did the opposite. Just stick to focusing on your football man, no one cares

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Didn't realise Deportivo are now languishing in the second tier. Feels like only a few years ago they were winning La Liga and doing really well in the Champions League.
  9. Having watched it all the way through, I thought a point was about right. First half was a bit of a non-event. We were better after the break, but didn't really feel we did enough to win the game, granted both teams will argue they had their chances. It'll prove to be a decent point should we win those two home games.
  10. I honestly think he's incredibly overrated
  11. Quizzed on the celebration after the game, the 20-year-old said: "It's a nice celebration because they were my former team before but now I'm in Brighton and that's where my focus is. So I try to celebrate for them and make them happy." Pressed further on his goal, Minteh added: “I was happy with the goal because this is what I dream of every time. If I don’t score in a game, to make a pass. “It’s an amazing feeling. Everybody wants to prove the team which sell them and I try to do that every time I play against them. I am happy about it.” sounds like he confused himself with that celebration
  12. Willock offered no protection for Tino yesterday who seemed to be more on the left with Barnes and it was Barnes who was chasing back.Tino was also stepping into the Joelinton position a few times goin forward Alarmingly undisciplined display from Willock.Start him and its gonna be a shite day
  13. I thought him drifting in to midfield first half was that new tactic they all use...turns out he just wanted to be as far away from the away end as possible.
  14. To be fair he barely played yesterday…
  15. How dare he leave for the world's biggest and most successful club. Doesn't he know the footballing world revolves around Liverpool?
  16. Thought Barnes looked canny on the right yesterday
  17. Be interesting to see if he plays their last 2 home games now. Could be quite uncomfortable for all concerned...
  18. He's too vital to take risks with his long term health, I've said it many time before I don't really see another player in European football that brings what he does to the side and he and us have taken too many risks with his knee injury as it is. I'd rather we got there without him and have him fit and firing for next season.
  19. TRon

    Joelinton

I think he is the hardest to replace because he's not just a midfielder, he combines that with givins us width on the left as well. The only other natural player who can do that is Willock, and he doesn't have the same combative strength in midfield. Tonali or Bruno you could arguably replace in the side with Miley or Longstaff. Obviously a step down but it's at least like for like.
  20. I agree - I think I would play Gordon on the right though as I think he's better at RW than Barnes - I feel more is lost when we move Barnes to RW
  21. This thread is starting to keep me awake at night. Keep looking in for someone to come up with conclusive proof that we qualify for CL but end up with half a dozen optimism/pessimism swings in five minutes. Of course the bookies have us 1/4 to qualify and Forest and Villa odds against but that factors in Forest being 5/2 just to win tonight. If they do pull off a win it changes significantly in their eyes. It's going to be an excruciating three weeks.
  22. Agree about Liverpool's no show, but at this stage of the season you really don't want to be relying on other teams doing you any favours. It's still in our hands and that's about as much as you can ask for.
  23. That's really the difference a top class winger makes though. At the highest level, you need something to break the low block, and Murphy doesn't really have that in his locker. He's more about getting the cross in early before he gets closed down, and he's really good at that.
