  1. Past hour
  2. Have probably brought forward the destruction of our natural environment by a day or two with all this AI generated shite.
  3. Dunno mate, I am €130 000 in debt, and earn maybe €38 000 € a year. Well yea, it is a mortgage tbh.
  4. I don't think a green away kit and sponsors is going to be the limit of Saudi influence on the clubs assets. Think most people won't mind a Saudi-named new stadium. I don't love it. But I think it's inevitable (not necessarily Saudi green in the badge) if the Saudi's are as invested as we need them to be.
  5. It's a massive deal in the PL. But it's something that can be improved.
  6. Think Felix Nmecha would be a very good fit. Good combination of physicality and technical ability. If Dortmund fail to get CL they could end up losing a few players.
  7. That would be a terrible decision. It's all very well having green away kits but green in the badge is an absolute no-no.
  8. Agreed. Mamardashvili seemed perfect because although he's young, he looks much the finished product. It's a bad Valencia team but a big team nonetheless. I guess I just don't want us to have a GK that has to learn on the job. And Howe is the type of manager to bench a player who needs that indefinitely anyway.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I think Trafford is actually superior to Pope in shot stopping. He has similar enormous wingspan, but probably more athleticism. We’re he’s inferior is commanding the area. I don’t think it’s as much of an issue as some make out, but he’s definitely not at Pope’s level. And obviously, he’s significantly better with his feet.
  10. Rice, Havertz, Trossard and Jorginho all back in training for them today.
  11. I know what you mean. I'm kind of feeling 'all or nothing' with the keeper, don't want us to be like Chelsea have have several who we don't know who is best, don't want us to be like Man U and sacrifice shot stopping for ball playing etc... But I'd be happy for us to go big if we are confident we find our guy for the next 10 years, if not then Pope is fine. Can't say I've watched Trafford, but find it hard to believe he will be Pope's level at shot stopping, commanding area etc. There's not many super potential keepers it seems, so why aren't loads of other big clubs after Trafford if his potential is high? (could be wrong and he turns out great, he has overperformed his expected saves stat etc) Joan García looks great from YouTube clips and is wanted by Arsenal and Barca, would love him
  12. Nice analogy to be fair, but flawed. The most important piece being that you are the one paying the interest. A better analogy would be your example, but that you're renting the house out. It stinks, the windows are broken, it needs new furniture, it needs painted etc. etc. You don't bother touching it. Your tenants are miserable, yet you still come to them every year and take money from them just for shits and giggles while increasing their payments.
  13. More than one way to skin a cat. Ashley owned us outright and didn't have us on the stock market. He made money solely by not spending it - including money the club made - getting free advertising for 14 years, refusing to invest in anything that would expand our revenue and only speculating to accumulate on players - only to then never reinvest the money on new players. He was a race to the bottom owner, as far as I can tell the Glazers are profit extractors. As bad as the Glazers are, the money available to Man United to spend as a club means that they could still easily be successful even if the Glazers are taking money out of it at the same time - Ashley's business model completely dictated our football model. The objective was to spend the smallest amount possible and finish 17th.
  14. This isn't true. He paid close attention to what happened on the pitch. Our stated aim, as said by the club in fans' forums and actually written down in the minutes, was to exit the cup competitions quickly because winning a cup might cause us to get relegated. Meanwhile doing 'well' in the league (aka comfortably avoiding relegation) meant no investment was needed, or better still he could sell some players. He was very concerned with what happened on the pitch, just it was entirely to our detriment.
  15. maybe if MU tried to finish a few places higher up in the league they wouldn't have to make so many 'necessary' cuts each league place is worth something like 3m? yet looks like they've completely given up now and happy to finish 17th
  16. We said this last year and Pope still cost us points this year. We need a new keeper.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

As Pope is back on form I don’t think GK is our top priority tbh. Would rather go for other options until Trafford is available at a fair price.
  18. There are only four adjectives that can ever be applied to a defence: Solid or weak. Watertight or leaky Anything else is just hyperbole
  19. There's only one keeper who should replace Pope. Marco Carnesecchi. I'll keep saying his name until it happens. Obviously we're not gonna spend £50m on a keeper though.
  20. Did you buy your house for cash, or was it, like me, borrowed at way more than 1.7x my salary, over a vast period, with the majority of everything I pay being interest?
  21. I guess with so many teams for so many positions it’s hard for us to clearly understand our chances. But we do tend to assume every other team is going to collect loads of points.
  22. Rather we didn't roll the dice on a young French League goalie, especially one who'd be going to AFCONS. There's lots of goalies likely available without having to take that kind of punt. Kelleher (not sure how much better than Pope he'd turn out) Trafford, Lunin from Madrid. On another topic, Kang-in Lee. We were linked a couple times before, seems he may be moved this summer. Would offer real technical quality and attacking threat in attacking midfield and cutting in off the right. Of all the players I can think of, this would massively improve us. Like his work rate too, not afraid to get stuck in. Of course there's a big marketing aspect as well, draw huge attention from Asia. ,
  23. finishing second with a trophy to celebrate this season would be a monumental achievement the only slight downside to that is people's expectations - it's unlikely we repeat that next season and then you get people questioning Howe's future at the club and all the usual shite I'm not expecting a title challenge next season and just worry Howe might become a victim of his own success balancing European football with domestic will be difficult
