  1. Past hour
  2. I ordered the away pro shirt as I wanted a new exercise top. It arrived quickly and seems good quality. A plain Nike shirt of similar quality would be more expensive. The badge does seem a bit weird but as I have vivid memories of the nipple chaif an embroidered Newcastle badge gave me years ago when I went for a run on a cold wet day I don't mind and can understand the decision. I'll miss Castore. I think their designs have been good and as I only ever buy reduced shirts at the end of the season I've never encountered the delivery issues others have. I really like the subtle textured effect on this season's Arsenal shirt and I hope Adidas do something similar on our shirt.
  3. Billy Gilmour was excellent for them. Another Chelsea academy player.
  4. I thought we played quite well yesterday apart from the final ball which let us down, it is noticeable how we were working positions down the right but the final ball from Murphy was played in to the area rather than trying to pick out any individual. It is also noticeable in games like this how we lack a midfielder who can make intelligent late runs in to the box like Willock did last season, even if he did snatch at a lot of his chances. I didn’t agree with the decision to take Isak off, he might have been ill in the week but you have a conversation with him at half time about if he feels well enough to play the full game, judging from his face when subbed he was clearly surprised at being brought off when we needed a goal and with no striker on the bench. I have seen people say about the gap Brighton were finding in midfield that their keeper was picking out but that was because we played a more pressing game and tried to pin them in their own half rather than letting them play out, this was something that we were successful with last season when we played them at home. I don’t think Howe could have done much different and let’s be honest, if Almiron wasn’t offside for the Gordon goal then we would be talking about how it was a master stroke taking Isak off, such is the fine margins at this level. Brighton were decent too by the way.
  5. Brighton played it perfectly as the away team and the ref let them get away with every delay tactic going. Sadly, I think I'm done defending Almiron.

I left at the whistle cause I was dehydrated and my head was banging - I really needed a drink. No other reason. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the same for others. It was hot.

The mass exodus for chicken nuggets and chips when Veltman went down on 38 minutes was mental.

Level 7 was 3/4 empty Gaps all over around me. Been about 30-35k left in the ground Not one person left last season and that was a night game
  9. It was heaving outside the Gallowgate right after the FT whistle. Similar levels to a normal game if I'm being honest.

Eh, I didn't think it emptied at the final whistle like? Loads, myself included, left their seats and walked closer to the pitch... looked like the vast majority were still in the ground to me.
  11. For me it all depends who comes in for him - if it's City that'll be hard for him to turn down.
  12. Ah fuck aye, I forgot about Klopps wake.
  13. I left because I was gasping for a drink. Also I just don't feel the connection to the players that most seem to. I just want to see Newcastle United win, I don't really care who does it for us.
  14. Last home game? Not that I think that's what was happening with Bruno but that'll be the suggestion.

Was quicker than previous years I thought. I've seen them go down the tunnel for an age in the past Ps that Europe again ole ole song at Burnley last week and yesterday just guaranteed we won't get into Europe Our fans never learn
  16. A very frustrating scrappy stop-start game, which was exactly how Brighton wanted it. That first goal was a bit of a killer for us, but either way we never really found our rhythm, or were allowed to. So it all felt a bit flat. All in all, it's not a disaster - 6th is still in our hands with one last push. Looking forward to Wednesday now - we could all but guarantee it there, what with Chelsea playing Brighton the same night.
  17. In all seriousness would any of our main players make a big play about leaving yesterday when there is still two games to go?
  18. Thanks for a great season to all at wor flags. You folks are absolute gold and for what it's worth I was in the gallowgate yesterday and blown away by the spectacle that your hard work creates. Made me so proud to be a Geordie.
  19. I don't generally get attached to players but from the outset it was clear he was a bit different. I'll be gutted if and when he leaves. Saying that the Carroll transfer hit me harder than Gazza, Beardsley et al, it was just so totally pointless and the player was worth more to us than the money we received. I started out in the morning laughing at the links with Liverpool and followed the saga throughout the whole day, broke my heart.
  20. I thought the atmosphere was very good in the gallowgate first half and decent in the second and while yes people did leave before the lap of honour I reckon a good 80% stayed. What didn't help was that they took an absolute age to get it sorted while the gadgie slavered on the mic. I think a lot left because of that.
  21. They're an excellent side - and I agreed with your comment the other day; that in the highly unlikely circumstances that Howe leaves, De Zerbi would be one of my first port of calls
  22. Menace

    Harvey Barnes

He's not smart/technical enough to be a striker imo. He's very good at what he does - just limited on a lot of other things.
  23. We do have something to play for. Yesterday wasn’t the must win game. Wednesday is; I think that is the point.
  24. They have commentators at every game you'd think they'd be able to do an all games on the red button job by now. We'll be getting the final leg of the Klopp wankathon on about 4 channels regardless of anything else though.
  25. 100% this You can probably count on the fingers on one hand the strikers that are going to score wherever they go, whatever the system. Look to the upside and consider why they might be failing. Pay for someone knocking in 20 in his last season and you're quite possibly paying 40 million too much. I give you Solanke. Playing in a team that works to his strengths and he's gone from 6 goals to 19 goals in a season. Same player of course just confident and in the right system.
  26. As long as the same Brighton turn up for their last 2 home games against Chelsea and man u then we've still gotta chance of Europe The fuckers best not roll over because they played like their lives depended on that draw yesterday
