That would be very depressing!!!

He's a success already. I am under whelmed tbh he should have scored at least 10 goals!!!

A bit different I know, but did John Hartson get banned for booting someone in the face back in his West Ham days. Did the FA even intervene. The Barton attack on Dabo was more serious fair enough, but I do think that the FA are jumping on the bandwagon with this one. A ban is deserved IMO but the 10-15 game ban being touted around is silly, to me its just the FA saying "look at us on the moral high ground".

I can see what people are saying with the walk away, it is a bad way to conduct business by Depor, but if this was any old player say Senderous or Anton Ferdinand for example it wouldn't matter too much to lose out on them as they are unlikely to improve too much on what we have. But in Collicinni's case he SHOULD be a massive improvement on what we have got at the club so it is worth paying that little bit more.
-
I think we should go that bit further with the bid, okay it will be said we caved into the ransom demand, but IMO he is a significant improvement on our current defenders so it would be worth the extra IMO. Prices this window are so inflated that our bid would not be out of place. Keane for 20mill plus, Bently 17mill, Elamander 11mill, Johnson 11million the prices are daft but thats the environment that we are in at the moment!

How happy would people be with "between 4 and 8"? At this stage I would be over the moon. I am worried about the lack of transfer activity but there are only a few teams that are brimming full of quality. Take out the top 4 who else is real quality? Everton, Villa, Pompey, Spurs and Man City maybe, all have their faults and each have had a tough pre season on the transfer front. Teams like Us, West Ham and Blackburn have got to be looking at breaking up the 1st band of teams that have been mentioned. Unless we improve the 1st team and the squad I can't see us finishing above any of the teams that have been mentioned. However, I don't think we are a million miles away from any of those mentioned as long as we bring in the right players? At the moment I think Portsmouth are the biggest threat to the top 4 but how far infront of us are they? With the squad Spurs got they should have 5th wrapped up but are two of their best players going to be there next season??

What a legend!!! Ha ha!!

I think he can improve Milners game but my biggest worry about Jimmy is his pace. Technically he maybe better than Gillespie but doesn't posses half his pace. It will be exciting to see Martins have a full season under KK, and I am hoping Jailbird Joey will take his last chance, hopefully Keegan can get Man Cityesq type performances from him.

Portsmouth are a decent example. Even when their money mona came in they didn't exactly throw around their money like nobodies buiness. The built a squad with the type of player that would improve on what they got. Now they are taking in big money Internationals. Okay Defoe and Crouch are not World Class but they are very good players and maybe they can take them up another level. Which in turn may allow Portsmouth to bring in even better players. At the moment our two signings don't really take us forward. I cannot comment on Spidey as all I have seen is 1 you tube clip, there is no guarentee he is better than Milner, and Guthrie is not an improvement on our current midfielders at the moment. So I can see why people are getting really frustrated. For this current policy to work we do need players that can go into our 1st team and improve it. I am sure there are players out there who can do that and won't break the bank either. I don't mind if they are unfashionable signings as long as they improve our squad.
-
Where are the Keegan quotes orginally from that we need left back cover, if its true then thats great as he clearly doesn't see Zoggy as left back cover. I hold great hopes for Enrique, he looked very raw at times last season, but I think last season would have done the lad wonders, he'll be stronger this year IMO. I would be disappointed if this Insua guy is brought in as a no 1, though I am pretty sure that won't be the case.
-
Some people moan about trophy signings, then we sign a decent player with the potential to improve that improves our wafer thin squad and some people still moan and all for a more than reasonable price.
-
2 million makes this deal worthwhile. At least it bolsters our squad, because I can't think of too many youngster coming through our reserve ranks that can step into the 1st team squad in CM. I am not getting too excited about this potential signing but there is every chance he could work out. Looking back at that full back with Blackburn - Warnock, he has done pretty well for Blackburn and probably carried a similar rep to Guthrie.
-
Can you imagine if this were the other way around. If a UK club did this to Madrid, Barca, Milan and the like FIFA would be all over it like a rash. If Ronaldo wants to go then fair enough but do it in the right way, not fecking around in the media, and doing it through all these ""leaked" sources. The whole saga is doing my head in. And Blatter is just a joke, the problem is when he goes another lackie will just take over and keep up this dislike of the British game!
-
If the stories are true I think that maybe the end of Barton, either at a cut price or plain old sacked? Overall I think Barton is the better player but will he ever get back to his top game after what he has gone through? I wouldn't be astounded by signing Sidwell but he is no mug to be fair.
-
Because Arsenal exclusively buy players this way don't they? Sagna, Hleb, Rosicky, Walcott, I am sure there are others that have cost a fair whack!. If Aresnal did buy Derdiyok a lot of people on here would be saying why doesn't our club have such vision, why don't we take any risks. Getting players in like Derdiyok, Lennon and Larsson although won't solve our problems will IMO improve our situation next season. Can you really see Bullard pushing us forward next season?
-
Clearly you are not taking the long term approach of thinking. After Jimmy Bullard finishes his playing career with us he is a natural succesor to the legend that is Terry McDermot. Its something we need to think about. Terry Mac is no spring chicken Bullard looks like he has the potential to even out do Terry Mac.
-
C. Based on his high wages (if true) and some teams may still be willing to pay. On his day he is a very useful player but we just don't see enough of him. Replacement is a must though!! and a back up to that replacement. I would hope we would be going into the new season with a better strikeforce than Oba, Owen, Viduka & Carroll (I am assuming that Shola will be gone by the start of the season) Ideally Carroll on loan to a top Championship team or lower end Prem like Hull or Stoke! And Viduka sold, so at least 2 more forwards should be bought IMO.
-
Surely he's got a mobile phone anyway it's not like he'll actually be negoitiating the deal himself. All he has to do is this; Keegan:"Go and buy Shaun Wright Phillips" Wise "Ok" KK hasn't got a mobile, he's old school, thats Allardyce.

Sebastian Larsson - agent confirms NUFC interest

The way some people are going on you would swear we are interested on Dean Windass for 4million. He looks technically sound and I think he can improve, just beacause he's not a world beater yet doesn't mean he won't be a very good signing, equally there is no guarentee that he will do anything for us, however, we could be linked with far far worse players!!!! -

Have people forgot that we got a pretty gash squad, and this guy is a decent player who would give us a few options. We need a lot of improvement, signing Larsson will not mean a turnaround in our squad but its a start. -
I sure some people would find fault at signing Ronaldo or Messi, almost any transfer link we have had some people have just hammerred it. Deco is a class above anyone we got in our squad, yes he is getting on a bit and maybe his fee would be too much for us, but we would be very lucky to have a player like Deco playing for us next season.

Give the lack of depth in our squad and the Barton situation I am amazed alot of people would be against signing this guy. He is a good player IMO no world beater at the moment but has very decent potential. Could develop into a right little gem. -
I don't mind the link with Zigic, just because he was shite at Valencia doesn't mean he won't be good again. He's been compared to crouch who was pants at Villa but really good at Soton and Liverpool. However, I wouldn't want him in expense of Enrique. I thought the lad did really well during our good patch. Yes he's got a lot to learn but he is young and it was his 1st season in the league. V.Good prospect!!

Man City were pretty shite at the tail end of the season. I wouldn't want to start splashing the cash like them. They bought some right duds this season. Petrov was excellent all season, Elano was top quality 1st half of the season the other good players were Dunne, Johnson, Hart and Onhou (Sp?) who were already there. I want to see us spend, but it hasn't brought us much success in the past , so being cautious is fine by me as long as we bring the right players in. I don't know enough about Diane to make a judgement.
