Barton has a negative effect o tiote and they both want to stay deep in midfield when we whould be looking for one o them to move forward like Nolan does when in the middle. A teaM IS THE SUM OF IT'S PARTS NOT JUST THE INDIVIDUAL COMPONENTS... Nolan + Tiote please with barton on right...
-
My opinion is that Pardew got his team set up wrong from the start: Routledge did not have a good game BUT -Barton is more effecteive playing on the right and at kleast gets decent crosses in -Nolan is teargas in the hole, far better in midifeld -Tiote partners better with Nolan than Barton the team ends up lopsided with these changes, we are far better in a classic 442. Easy to say with hindsight but he should have kept the original shape and changed only ranger for Shola and colo for sol. Both taylor and colo were disgraceful for the first two goals, the third was a fluke, although he had too much time to do what he wanted (he is good tho'!)

aye, woulñd like him to take the initiative and give a full energy performance... Not bothwred if he doesn't score just want him to hassle and make his presence known to the defenders.
-
What a crimbo present it would be! Revenge for what was done to Ben arfa... Looks like balotelli is in the huff and might not play. have to get at their defence, they looked soft against everton...
-
Steven Taylor and Colo at the back after he signs new contract. Ranger up front with Andy. rest pick themselves...
-
Fly up ben Arfa and parade him in the centre circle on crutches just before kick off to get the fans wound up... dead cert win!!
-
No Tiote in the middle?? ------------Forster------------- Evra---Vidic--Bassong---Ivanovic Bale---TIOTE---Nasri---Nani -------Carrol-------Tevez

Ranger's biggest problem is when he receives the ball in midfield and is pressured, he always seems a little too nonchalant and makes too many mistakes. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he maintains concentration for 90 mins but I think that for the moment he could be best suited to coming on for 30 mins as an impact sub and where perhaps lax mistakes can be rectified easier as opposing teams will also be tiring and concentration will not be as high as at the start....

P.P.P.S. I wonder if we will all moan about "not winning things with kids" if we ever reach the model's pinnacle (see Arsenal -Wenger)

P.P.S. Get rid of Taylor, Raylor, Smith asap and get those wages down!!

Very good read! Sheds a lot of light on our owner, I for one have had my opinion changed towards him. I feel that he is trying to implement business virtues into a football club that has grown accustomed to "luxuries & riches" from previous regimes and he is being made to pay for it. If he does get Newcastle onto an even keel economically, i would like to see what he does if we reach european spots. The biggest and most obvious mistake (to me) that ashley is making (has made) is the selction of our manager, this has to be one of the most influential posts in regard to raising income which would come automatically via better league position. I also understand that Ashley will be restricted in that choice (woah..see Pardew!) because any "top" manager will want assurances of funds and wages to attract top players... I suppose we will just have to have faith that we uncover many diamonds (a la Carrol/ranger...) and wait four or five years to see if we do become a success both on and off the pitch... Fingers crossed! P.S. Ashley, you are now rated at 5/10 on my personal hate scale (improvement from 1!!)

Yep, Jonas really needs to pull his finger out for this one and bum the face off carr!! Him and Enrique could really take him to the cleaners... I am also up for giving Nile a shot up front, let's see what he can do from thew fist whistle, I have my doubts but as they say "who dares, wins..."
-
Jonas has been awful in his offensive duties over the last few games, seems to have lost a bit of confidence... Can't fault his tracking back and covering, and the guy never hides from the ball, always willing to receive in awkward situations. one of his best attributes is (was?) his ability to hold up the ball for a few seconds on the wing whilst we regrouped, not giving it away very easily. Come on Jonas! perk up mate! I know you can!!!
-
Hleb is out still and Zigic for all his size advantage he's not that great a threat against big defenders. I would have both Colo and Williamson back in for this, I would have said Taylor for his height a stature but funck him if he isn't prepared to sign, on the bench! Ranger up front then...Somebody please tell him to be careful with his passes when in middle of park, keep concentrastion up... Allright, I know he's only 19! ---------Krul--------- Simps--Will---Colo---Enrique Barton---Nolan--Tiote--Jonas ---------Ranger----------- ----------Carrol-----
-
Let's be fair about this, he was given all the time and space he wanted, nobody went to him.. I could have scored that, but would've stuck it in the tp corner
-
I would only make one change, Colo for Sol. We look well balanced as a side with this formation, when we bring on Routledge or move Nolan forward we deffo lose a bit of solidity... Ranger power sub!!

cOMMUNICATION NEEDS TO BE A HELL OF A LOT BETTER THAN TODAY. COUNTED FOUR TIMES WHEN HE WAS IN A MIX UP WITH THE DEFENDERS!!!
-
Barton controlled our midfieldtoday, he marks the pace we play at and takes the pressure off through sublime passing. Best game I've seen him play for us. Carrol had a good game, only fault was missing the header with the goal in front, probably the speed he was going at. Tiote was giant aswell, gets the ball and they certainly don't get it back off him often. Cracking interview by Nolan and Joey, surprised tbh... Cambell was great at times and abysmal at times also... Would like to see him get through a game with some sort of consistence. Jonas was my let down player today, didn't seem to be at the races. We all have em'... GREAT TEAM PERFORMANCE. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISSY HUGHTON, AND THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!
-
Good 20 minutes. Hope Shola stays out for a game or two to see how he does... Make me eat humble pie Nial!!
-
Good lad Joey!! Go on son!

Some excellent posts in this thread! I agree totally that Ashley now feels he has to prove his business acumen with or without us. His pride has been damaged and he perhaps enjoys playing with the fans feelings but I think there is very vindictive side to this man. His business competitors seem to "fear" him, he doesn't mind taking on the broadsheets or the markets, a mark of a ruthless, and most depressingly a dangerous man. My self medicating (neanderthal) sentiments at this moment: Could somebody just stick the nut on him once and for all...

I RECKON A PITCH INVASION WITH THE WHOLE CROWD CHANTING "FUNK OFF ASHLEY" would certainly bring a smile to my face while watching the fracas on Tv here in Spain.
