Given a 4 out of 10 by our favourite window licker.
-
We were much better in a 4-1-4-1 system and since anita, Gini, ayoze, thauvin, Sissoko and mitrovic should all be first choice picks, it should pick itself. A big part of my judgement of Mcclaren will be formed over the next two weeks. If, as I assume he will, he plays colback over ayoze, then I'll know he's just another clueless twat.

I'm actually liking some of the little tantrums he's having. Some of our players need to be told when they are producing absolute shite.

What the hell have Appliances Online got to do with us buying risky, unproven players?

Hopefully we'll go ahead and buy Byram now! -

Sissoko and Gini as a pair would be as effective as playing Lampard and Gerrard together. Why would you limit two of our most potent attacking players by making it so one has to stay back? Especially since McClaren clearly wants a deep lying midfielder so the full backs can get forward. Madness. -
I would imagine a few of those were in midfield- the winner at Highbury certainly was.
-
Unless we sign a left back some time soon, he should be playing there. A better option than Haidara at this minute.
-
0.5m euros? Not a great lot.
-
Why the fuck hasn't he changed his name to his mothers name like every other fucker would? He'll carry his dad's surname everywhere with him in life but not on the back of a football shirt?
-
Bollocks decision. McClaren fast losing the limited patience I was willing to give him.
-
Januzai is so overrated. He's done next to nothing since his initial breakthrough. Could easily be another Macheda.
-
He improved him considerably. Given went from a keeper whose kicking was embarrassing to a very passable kicker of the ball who actually picked out Shearers head consistently.

Superb. Liking the look of the coaching staff at the moment. All seem professional, highly regarded and experienced. Looking at the career paths of Smith, Cathro and Black and how they've worked to learn and develop is a stark contrast to those wasters Carver, Stone and Woodman. EDIT: Just seen the above about Harper coaching Given. Sensational that one. Not even sure why we're appointed a goalkeeping coach then- should have just let Krul do it.

We've seen nothing in pre season to suggest Wijnaldum will play in the two with De Jong off the striker. It looked pretty good in the last 20 minutes yesterday but all signs point to Anita and Colback with Wijnaldum in front of them. Pretty worrying.
-
If he has potential, he can do one and realise that potential elsewhere before coming to us. We aren't some learning school, we're one of the richest clubs in the world. If another recently retired keeper who'd never coached was being suggested, this wouldn't even be up for debate. So the fact he's a Geordie is the only reason he's a contender.

Am i right in thinking that we've not once played with Wijnaldum as part of a 2 with De Jong just off the striker? No reason to believe we'll see a change from that next week. -
Google tells me he's played quite a bit at right back as well which is useful considering we only have Janmaat.
-
Rob Lee is such a twat. Yammering on about Harper loving and knowing the club. Has no one learned a lesson from the Carver debacle?
-
I'm hoping he means outfield players when he says 18 to 20. That leaves 22 players and the rest of his quote suggests he'll make a call on who will go out on loan and who will leave. We've already shown a willingness to loan youngsters out rather than have them sitting around in case.
-
Who paid 7m for Liam (fucking) Brady? Canny player in his time but he must be at least 60 now.
-
Not enough love for this. Never going to take off unfortunately- not sure many in SJP are big fans.

“I’ve come in and said to Lee (Charnley, United’s managing director) and the board that I’d like to see him playing. I haven’t seen that yet, so I can’t make a decision on the future." Erm, have they actually told him that he has feck all say in who stays and who goes, or who comes and who doesn't? His quote suggests the exact opposite. It suggests they've asked him if he wants to keep Coloccini and he's said he wants to see him playing before he makes a decision.
